These classes are for minor speeding and seat belt violations and are not for drivers training. DDC-4 Hour If you want a refresher course in the latest rules of the road, this class may be for you. Topics covered include safety belts, child safety regulations, passing safely, the effect of alcohol and drugs on driving and vehicle laws and regulations. DDC-ADD 8-Hour-Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving This highly effective driver-training program is developed especially for problem drivers. By emphasizing the connections between behavior and attitude, DDC-ADD helps participants to see how reckless driving is a result of their own actions. Safety First This 1.5 hour, fast paced classroom program is ideal for the candidates that received seat belt, stop sign/ stop light and texting violations or want a refresher of the rules of the road. It effectively demonstrates the consequences of poor choices that drivers make behind the wheel that include injury to themselves or others. Topics covered include safety belts, child safety regulations, potential result of injury or death when restraint systems are not used, correctly stopping at stop sign/lights, who has the right of way and the consequences of texting and driving. NCDOT Oversized & Overload Escort Vehicle Training The North Carolina Department of Transportation requires that all Oversize-Overweight Load Escort Vehicle Drivers must be certified. The program includes instruction in safe and effective escort skills, an examination that documents course comprehension, and a system of recognizing drivers certified by this or another state. To become certified, escort drivers must attend the 8-hour DOT Escort Vehicle Course. Registration Information All materials are included in the class registration fee and all classes are classroom instruction only. The Registration fee for the DOT 4-Hour Recertification is $65.00. Motorcycle- Basic Rider Course (BRC) This updated Basic Rider Course curriculum is a hybrid style course that includes a 3-4 hour online course that is prerequisite for the range exercises. Participants will be able to learn safe motorcycle riding skills under the direction of the NC Motorcycle Safety Program’s certified instructors. This beginning course is designed for riders with little or no experience. However, you must be able to ride a bicycle, lift and keep the motorcycle upright. Upon successfully completing the riding portion, students will receive a DMV completion card to present to the DMV’s office in order for the student to take a written exam for M endorsement on their license. What you need for the training course: a) a helmet designed to meet DOT standards and proper eye protection (Face shields are acceptable) b) over the ankle footwear c) long sleeved shirt or jacket d) long non-flare denim pants or materials of equivalent/better durability e) full-fingered gloves with grip material Motorcycles are provided for the Basic Riders Course (BRC) and PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED prior to attending class. The NC Motorcycle Safety Education Program requires 100% attendance once class starts and no REFUNDS are given at any point. You will have to complete and pass the online portion (e-Course), failure to complete the e-Course will result in no certificate.
