This meeting will provide information on how TCAPS Native American students are doing in language arts and mathematics as well as provide attendance and graduation data.
The TCAPS Indigenous Education Parent Committee was established to provide input and assistance with the program. All parents and guardians of TCAPS Native American students are encouraged to attend these informative meetings and to share their thoughts and opinions. Naaji Anderson, Audrey Anderson and Sophia Anderson seniors at Suttons Bay Public Schools. Received their spirit names from the Traditional Healer at the GTB Medicine Lodge. Suttons Bay Public School Indigenous Education Program assists with cultural identity. "WE are so proud of them!"

Eilleen Alcaraz-Shomin is a senior at Suttons Bay Public Schools. Eilleen has gone above and beyond the last semester and we are super proud of her. She is interested in pursuing a career in the arts. Her hobbies are ice skating, photography, she loves music and loves to travel and sleep. She plans to attend Northwestern Michigan College in the Fall of 2022.
The Indigenous Education Parent Committee would love to say congratulations Eilleen! You are well on your way to pursuing your dreams! Your hard work and dedication has shown us you will succeed at whatever you put your mind too.
Mkenzi Bowens a sophomore at Central Michigan University studying Events Planning and leaving at the end of April for the Disney College Program through September. Mkenzi visited our Indigenous Education students in December and donated her time taking senior pictures for our Title VI students.
