In his 18th year as an assistant player development coach at Georgia Tech, Steve Tamborra oversees the highly-touted strength and conditioning program for the Georgia Tech baseball team. Since his arrival more than a decade ago, Tamborra has been responsible for the development and implementation of strength training regimes of many studentathletes that have gone on to play professional baseball, with several of those athletes returning to Georgia Tech during their offseason to continue training with him. In 2013, Tamborra was named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC) by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa). This honor is the highest given in the strength and conditioning profession. Tamborra joined the Tech staff in November 1999, after five years in a similar capacity at Florida State where he worked with the baseball, softball and football teams from 1995-99. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Fitness from Florida State in 1994 and a Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Florida State in 1996. Tamborra is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, TPI Certified Fitness Professional Level 2 by Titleist Performance Institute, a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Certificate, a certified Health/Fitness Instructor by the American College of Sports Medicine and a Certified Club Coach by USA Weightlifting. He has written one book, Complete Conditioning for Baseball, which was published in late 2007. Tamborra is married to the former Stacy Venable, a pitcher for the Florida State softball team from 1997-99. They have a seven-year old daughter, Malayna, and fouryear old twins, Austin and Payton.

Nick Scherer is in his 10th year as the director of baseball operations for the Georgia Tech program after playing four years for the Yellow Jackets and head coach Danny Hall from 2004-07. In his current role, Scherer is responsible for coordinating the Yellow Jackets’ travel plans, equipment management and clubhouse operations in addition to assisting in alumni relations and marketing for the Georgia Tech baseball team. Scherer also serves as the director for the Danny Hall Baseball Camps. A catcher that provided depth behind the plate during his tenure, Scherer was a leader in the locker room and served as the primary catcher for Tech starter Eddie Burns in 2007. Scherer played in 47 games from 2005-07 after receiving a redshirt in 2004. He was a product of the highly-touted East Cobb Baseball program and a member of the East Cobb Yankees summer team that captured the Connie Mack World Series titles in 2001 and 2003. Scherer has served as an assistant coach for the East Cobb Yankees since 2007. In his first two years with the Yankees, the team picked up a runner-up finish in 2007 and a championship in the 2008 Connie Mack World Series. He has also been the assistant coach on staff for the Yankees teams that have won the 2012 Perfect Game World Wood Bat National Championship, the 2013 CABA Championship, and the 2013 Connie Mack World Series Championship. More recently, his East Cobb Yankees squads have also won the 2015 Perfect Game World Wood Bat National Championship and were crowned both the 2015 and 2016 Connie Mack World Series Champions. Scherer is a native of Roswell, Ga. and graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in management in December 2007. He is married to the former Lauren Neylan. The two reside in Marietta, Ga.
