ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS U.S. NAVAL ACADEMY, 2004 FIRST SEASON AT GEORGIA TECH @COACHCANDETO Craig Candeto, a former standout collegiate quarterback for Paul Johnson, Navy fighter pilot and coach, enters his second stint at Georgia Tech and first year as assistant director of football operations. Candeto spent the past three years as the head football coach of Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Candeto’s 2015 squad was ranked in the top 15 nationally in five major statistical categories. In Candeto’s time as head coach, the Crusaders broke a total of six school records. During the 2011 and 2012 seasons, Candeto held the position of quarterbacks/B-backs coach and academic coordinator at The Citadel. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Georgia Tech (2010) and Austin Peay State (2009). Prior to beginning his career as a coach, Candeto served five years in the U.S. Navy, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. His last assignment was as a fighter pilot with Strike Fighter Squadron 106 in Virginia Beach, Va., flying the $57 million F/A-18-18E/F Super Hornet. As a student-athlete at the United States Naval Academy, Candeto played both football and baseball for four years. As a senior captain of the Midshipmen in 2003, he helped guide the team to an 8-5 record and a bowl appearance after posting just three wins the previous three seasons combined. Candeto rushed and passed for more than 1,000 yards and earned the Memorial Silver Helmet Award as the most outstanding player at Navy for two straight seasons. Candeto graduated from the Naval Academy with a bachelor’s degree in economics in 2004. He is married to the former Maribeth Robinson, and the couple resides in Smyrna.
ANDY LUTZ DIRECTOR OF PLAYER PERSONNEL PACIFIC, 1991 FOURTH SEASON AT GEORGIA TECH A college football athletic administrator since 1991, Andy Lutz is in his fourth season on the Georgia Tech football staff. Prior to the 2015 season, he assumed his current role as director of player personnel. Before coming to Georgia Tech in August 2013, he served as the assistant athletic director for football operations at Texas Tech. In that role, Lutz oversaw all facets of Texas Tech football’s recruiting efforts as well as the day-to-day operations of the Red Raider program. From late 1998 through 2008, Lutz worked as the assistant to the head football coach at Auburn, where his duties included day-to-day operations for recruiting and personnel. Before working at Auburn, Lutz worked two years (1996-98) at Ole Miss as the assistant to the athletic director for recruiting, where he helped coordinate the recruiting process for all Rebels’ sports. Lutz was promoted to his position at Ole Miss after working as a graduate assistant for one year. Lutz began his collegiate administration career in 1991 at his alma mater, the University of the Pacific, for three years, from 1991-94. He then left for the University of Nevada, where he served as a graduate assistant for one year. From 1991-2001, Lutz also worked outside the college athletics’ arena as clinic director for the Frank Glazier Football Clinics. Lutz graduated from Pacific with a degree in communications/public relations in 1991 after playing on the Tigers’ football team from 1988-91. He began his college career at San Joaquin Delta College, where Lutz was an all-conference and second-team all-state defensive back. Lutz earned his master’s in educational counseling psychology from Pacific in 1994. He and his wife, Brandy, have one daughter, Aberle.

Saeed Khalif, a former Georgia Tech football standout, returned to his alma mater in May 2013 as assistant director of player personnel, receiving a promotion to associate director in 2016. Khalif (known in college as Kyle Ambrose) played defensive line at Georgia Tech from 198486. Khalif was a member of Tech’s “Black Watch Defense,” a team captain and he was named first-team All-ACC in 1986. Khalif, who played for head coach Bill Curry and helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a 9-2-1 record in 1985, was on the Denver Broncos roster in 1987. Khalif returned to his alma mater after working the previous two years as defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Savannah State. Prior to that, he served as head coach at Central High School in Newark, N.J., where he led CHS to back-to-back winning seasons. Inducted into the Newark Sports Hall of Fame in October 2013, Khalif earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial management from Georgia Tech in 1988.
BRAD WAGGONER ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF PLAYER PERSONNEL LIBERTY, 1997 THIRD SEASON AT GEORGIA TECH @COACHWAGGONERGT Brad Waggoner, who began his association with Georgia Tech football 20 years ago as a linebacker for the Yellow Jackets, was named associate director of player personnel in May 2014. Waggoner comes to the Flats after serving the last 10 years as a high school head coach in Georgia, Alabama and Florida. Most recently, he was head coach and athletic director at Lumpkin County (Ga.) H.S. after previously working as the head coach at Decatur H.S. (2012-13) and Chattooga (Ga.) H.S. (2009-12). From 1997-2000, Waggoner coached on the college level. In 1997 he served as an assistant coach and video coordinator at VMI, followed by two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Alabama in 1998 and 1999. He went on to work as an assistant coach at West Alabama through 2000. From 2000-03, Waggoner was an assistant coach at Sandy Creek H.S. in Tyrone (Ga.), where he helped coach Georgia Tech standouts Calvin Johnson and Andrew Gardner. Waggoner grew up in Fayetteville, Ga., where he attended Landmark Christian High School. After graduating, he attended Georgia Tech in 1994 where he played linebacker for the Yellow Jackets. He finished his career at Liberty University, where he played linebacker for the Flames in 1995 and 1996. Waggoner and wife, Mary Beth, have a son, Brad Jr.
BRITTANY McCORMICK RECRUITING AND MARKETING COORDINATOR MICHIGAN STATE, 2012 FOURTH SEASON AT GEORGIA TECH @BRITTMCCORMICK Brittany McCormick joined the Georgia Tech football staff as recruiting and marketing coordinator in March of 2016 following three years as assistant director for communications and public relations for the Yellow Jackets. She served as the primary contact for women’s basketball and women’s tennis, and the secondary contact for Tech football in that position. McCormick came to The Flats from Syracuse University, where she was an athletics communication assistant for the 2012-13 athletics season. She worked with the Orange ice hockey, cross country, and track and field programs in addition to serving as a secondary contact for football, women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s lacrosse. McCormick has also served as a media and stats volunteer at the NCAA Frozen Four every year since April 2010. A native of Freehold, N.J., she graduated with high honors from Michigan State with a bach-
