Carl S. Kirkconnell, ME 90, MS ME 92, PhD ME 96, has been appointed chief technology officer of Iris Technology, an Irvine, Calif.-based defense contractor that specializes in military power systems and space electronics. Kirkconnell has been awarded eight U.S. patents and has six pending in the area of cryogenic refrigerator design.
