Neil W. Howard, IM, has been named manager of the Huntsville Project of Federal Electric Corporation, a subsidiary of International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation, Huntsville, Alabama. John B. Mills, III, Chem, has been promoted to assistant professor of biochemistry in the division of basic health sciences at Emory University. Ira J. Silberman, ID, has joined the Board of Directors of Diversified Products Corporation effective October 29, 1970 in Opelika, Alabama. Mr. Silberman is Vice-President of Research and Development. R. Steve Cantrell, ME, has joined Continental Can Company's Division Engineering staff at Augusta, Georgia as Manager of Maintenance Engineering. William Farr, III, IM, has been elected a vice-president of The First National Bank of Atlanta, Georgia. Colonel Frederick J. Goebeler, Jr., IM, was presented a Meritorious Service Medal for his outstanding ability and sound judgment in the financial management of the Valley Forge General Hospital, Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, from June 1967 to June 1970. Dillon, EE, has been appointed General Manager of Microwave Relay Service, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of ScientificAtlanta, Inc., in Atlanta, Georgia. U. S. Air Force Captain Edwin B. Jelks, III, IM, is attending the Air University's Squadron Officer School at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. U. S. Air Force Captain Weyman R. Kierbow, IE, has arrived for duty at Altus AFB, Oklahoma. Capt. Kierbow, a KC-135 Stratotanker aerial refueling aircraft commander, is assigned to a unit of the Strategic Air Command. Milton M. Leggett, IM, has been appointed Senior Industrial Engineer for a diesel engine manufacturer, Cummins Engine Company, Inc., Columbus, Indiana. U. S. Air Force Captain John R. Lyon, AE, is on duty at Bien Hoa AFB, Vietnam. Captain Lyon is a pilot in a unit of the Pacific Air Forces. Joseph C. Roy, BC, has joined the staff of Liberty Properties, real estate subsidiary of The Liberty Corporation, in the newly-created position of chief engineer at Greenville, South Carolina. J. L. Smith, ME, has been appointed district superintendent, western district, West Texas division of Shell Pipe Line Corporation, Houston, Texas. R. J. Whitaker, ChE, has been promoted to General Foreman of the Caustic-Cholorate area at PPG Industries, Industrial Chemical Division, Lake Charles, Louisiana. U. S. Air Force Captain Charles H. Bruce Wayne Bradley, IM, has been promoted to Systems Engineering Officer at the First National Bank in Atlanta, Georgia. O. D. Dearman, IM, has been named product manager of R. J. Reynolds' smoking and chewing brands in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. James W. Deas. IM, was married to Miss Dianne Reine Gratton of Hawkesbury, Ontario on July 25, 1970. Mr. Deas was recently promoted to Extrusion Department Manager of Patchogue-Plymouth Company in Hawkesbury after being transferred there from their Hazlehurst, Georgia plant. Captain Charles L. Garner, IM, is a member of a unit that has earned the U. S. Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for the fourth consecutive year. Capt. Garner is a F-4 Phantom pilot in the 12th Tactical Fighter Wing at Pau Cat AFB, Vietnam. Bayard von Herrmann, IE, has been appointed vice-president—sales of Jet-Ice, Inc. of Albany, Georgia. McDonald, Jr., IM, has joined the staff of Liller Neal Battle & Lindsey, Inc., Atlanta-based advertising and public relations firm, as an account supervisor. Mr. McDonald resides at 3466 Lansbury Village Drive, NE, Atlanta. Edward S. Whitehead, IM, was married to Miss Emily Edwina Parnell on May 30, 1970. Mr. Whitehead is a management consultant with the firm of Henderson, Lindsay & Michaels, Inc. of Greenville, South Carolina. ' O ET Richard J. Cipriotti is a U.S.A.F. radar maintenance officer with the 20th Surveillance Squadron at Elgin AFB, Fla. Captain W. Bruce Douglass, E E , has been assigned to U.S. Army Engineer Command Vietnam, Electrical Systems Office, APO S. F. 96491. Firooz Israel, CE, has been promoted to the position of structural department head with the firm of Lockwood Greene Engineers, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. James P. Jones, ChE, has been promoted to Senior Engineer of the Conversion Section in the Process Engineering Department at Humble Oil and Refining Company in Bay town, Texas. Navy Lt. William J. Leebern, EE, was killed in an airplane accident on August 7, 1970. C. Michael Lightbourn, IM, was married to Miss Christine Knowles on April 10, 1970 in Nassau, Bahamas. Mr. Lightbourn is working for Morley & O'Brien Real Estate, Nassau. W. T. Lyford, 111, EE, has been released from active duty in the U. S. Air Force and now works for Gulf Power Company in Pensacola, Florida. Les W. Prescott, Cere, has accepted a position as East Coast Representative for B. F. Goodrich Corporation. The family resides at 1587 Bishop Hollow Run, Atlanta, Georgia 30341. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Al Weidenmuller, Jr., Arch, a daughter, Julie Jane, on November 5, 1970 and "We plan to dress her in White and Gold."
