Because of all of you, more girls will have more opportunities to discover a stronger sense of self, connect in a diverse and changing world, and take action to make the world a better place.

onor Profile: Mary Daly—Donor, Troop Leader, and 100th Anniversary Tri-Chair When did you become a Girl Scout? I joined Girl Scouts in 1970 as a second grade Brownie (the earliest you could join back then). I was in a very active troop that camped a lot, toured factories and did many service projects. We also traveled to Colorado to hike and Canada to canoe. I stayed in through Cadettes (ninth grade) earning my First Class award. I rejoined Girl Scouts as an adult in 1993 to help with my oldest niece’s troop. I have been honored to receive a number of awards in Girl Scouts including the Thanks Badge (for my work in helping create a memorandum of understanding between GSUSA and the Society of Women Engineers) and the Thanks Badge II (for my efforts during the council realignment).
