Kudos - Issue 5

Dr. Heather Joesting's (Dept. of Biology) Plant Ecology lab visited the marsh at Rodney Hall Boat Ramp in Savannah for a lab documenting marsh plant communities. Students established a 60-m transect perpendicular to the Skidaway River and gained hands-on experience on how to assess plant presence and cover.

Last week, our NOBCChE students shared their love of chemistry with the local Statesboro community at Scare on the Square! They performed baking soda + vinegar demos and gave out lots of candy. The kids had a blast!

Four students represented the chemistry program at the 50th annual National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana September 10-14.
