Dr. Ed Mondor (Biology) was invited to talk to an undergraduate Forensic Anthropology class at UGA (taught by Dr. Laurie Reitsema), on insects associated with decomposition. The talk was entitled, "Forensic Entomology: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."
Dr. Amy Potter (SEES) co-presented her NSF-funded research project at the 9th International Conference of Critical Geographies in Mexico City on October 23rd. The presentation was titled Sustaining Black Neighborhoods and Black Communities: Black Museums in the Wake of Gentrification.

Strategic Enrollment Plan (SEP): We will kick off our Strategic Enrollment Planning Process on November 2nd. All of the Action Teams have been selected. Thank you to all the volunteers for participating in this critical process. Over 70 community members across the university, including faculty and staff, will help us drive this initiative. We look forward to having a completed plan by June of next year. This planning process, incorporating the work of the Armstrong Task Force, will help us identify major initiatives to grow enrollment for all of Georgia Southern, set enrollment targets, and help with strategic allocation for the next 3-5 years.
Fifteen Georgia Southern students and six faculty (Dr. Whitlock, Dr. Feske, Dr. Quillian, Dr. Weiland, Dr. De la Cerna and Dr. Lynch) attended the Southeastern Regional Meeting of the American Chemical Society. The meeting was held October 25-28 in Durham, North Carolina with over 1400 papers presented and over 1950 participants. Georgia Southern students and faculty presented 20 papers during the meeting.
