Updates From The Dean - Issue 9

We’re happy to announce that Drs. Heather Joesting and Sara Gremillion are joining the Dean’s Office team as Administrative Fellows. Dr. Gremillion will serve as the Administrative Fellow for Professional Readiness and Student Success and Dr. Joesting will serve as the Administrative Fellow for Undergraduate Research. The table below shows the duties and responsibilities for each position.

Please join me in congratulating them on the new positions. They will begin work on these important assignments in January.

Undergraduate Research

  • Assist COSM departments and faculty with efforts to strengthen undergraduate research experiences for our students.

  • Assist with and develop COSM-wide initiatives that enhance and/or expand undergraduate research experiences.

  • Serve as the Chair of the COSM Office of Undergraduate Research Committee.

  • Work closely with the Associate Dean of Research to direct activities and initiatives in the COSM Office of Undergraduate Research.

  • Work with the COSM leadership team to develop a strategic plan for the COSM Office of Undergraduate Research.

  • Develop assessment measures to evaluate the strength of our undergraduate research program.

Professional Readiness & Student Success

  • Assist COSM departments and faculty with efforts to strengthen students’ preparation to enter the workforce or applied for graduate programs.

  • Assist with and develop COSM-wide initiatives that enhance and/or expand student success.

  • Serve as the COSM point of contact with the Office of Career and Professional Development.

  • Develop initiatives to strengthen the internships and summer employment opportunities for our COSM students.

  • Assist with the data collection and analysis of our student success initiatives.
