CONNECTION | SECLUSION
Stemming from the challenge that cross-cultural individuals and children encounter to find belonging, rootedness and place attachment, this project explores aspects of architectural design that can contribute in the de-alienation of this population. As barriers disappear or transform, new connections emerge. The atmosphere shifts, from connected to secluded to reconnected, allowing both specificity and openness. The project for PS 64 proposes spaces in which students and local residents can convene and create attachments to people dealing with similar identitarian struggles as the means to create positive memories and attachment to the place.
