The Gold Award is the highest award girls in grades 9-12 can earn. It lets a girl discover and tackle a problem outside of Girl Scouts and make connections and work with others to create a lasting change in the community. This training guides them to learn: the difference between a community service project and a Gold Award take action project, ideas on how to raise the bar and address the root cause of problems, how to make a Gold Award project measurable, how to ensure sustainability is included in a Gold Award Project, what the approval process is like and what you need to submit to the council and how the council recognizes Gold Award recipients.

Silver Award is the highest award girls in grades 6-8 can earn. It lets a girl discover and tackle a problem outside of Girl Scouts and make connections and work with others to create a lasting change in the community. Girls must have completed steps 1-2 of a Cadette Journey. This training guides girls to learn: the difference between a community service project and a Silver Award take action project, ideas on how to raise the bar and address the root cause of problems, how to make a Silver Award project measurable, how sustainability fits into the Silver Award, what you need to submit to the council, recognition offered by the council.
