GRYPHON DESIGN COLLECTIVE EMPOWERING CHILDREN THROUGH THE ART OF STORYTELLING
In 2011 shortly after the birth of her son, Michele Slobin left a coveted position in the fashion industry to start a company that could positively impact families. While researching her new venture, she discovered that 34% of American children are not considered kindergarden ready by the age of 5. Many studies concluded that there was an alarming gap in language skills that widened as the children got older. The data seemed to suggest that reading to children at an early age (birth to age 3) can positively impact a child’s language and speech patterns, Michele decided that she wanted to develop something unique and beautiful incorporating art, language and play.
Gryphon Design Collective recruits exceptional artists from around the world and designs original personalized children’s books and learning games. Their hope is to reinvent the bedtime story by creating a deeply personal experience for parent and child.

Gryphon Design Collective is also releasing an original book about art, style and history called “Fashion A to Z.” It’s full of gorgeous fashion illustrations by some of the years’ best illustrators, such as Katie Rodgers of Paperfashion.
