Figure of Eight lashing

Turnique lashing (starting the lashing)

Turnique lashing (tightening the lashing)

Tournique lashing The tournique lashing is made using a loop of rope and a small pole. The loop is passed around the spars to be lashed and a small pole inserted in the loop. This is twisted until the binding is tight. The small pole is then secured to the nearest spar with sisal to prevent it unraveling.
