The Ellehammer logo shield is based on the historical and traditional Scandinavian flags which all share the same cross pattern. The red color symbolizes the Danish flag, the world’s oldest state flag still in use, and makes a reference to the homeland of Mr. Ellehammer and our brand: Denmark. Legends say that the Danish flag, called Dannebrog, fell from the sky into the hands of the Danish King Valdemar II during the Battle of Lyndanisse in Estonia in 1219 and led his discouraged troops to victory.
