How to Bid in the Silent Auction
It’s fun and simple, and the prizes are great! You can choose to bid on the tablet in front of each item, or go to the smart phone bidding table to register your phone. (Once you register your smart phone, you will be able to use your phone to browse the auction, place bids, receive outbid notifications, view the status of your bids, and make donations.) When you are ready to bid, log in to the tablet or use the link on your smart phone. Enter the bidder number that is located on your name badge (and is also on the back of your printed program). Once you are logged in, you can place a bid by the minimum amount required or you can place a maximum bid. Once your bid has been placed you will immediately be notified if you are the winning bidder, or if you have been outbid.
Strategy
You can bid the traditional way by increasing the bid by the minimum bid amount, or you can set your maximum bid. Placing a maximum bid is ideal for guests who’d like to place a single bid on an item and not worry about checking back. When you place a maximum bid, the system bids for you against other bidders until your maximum bid is reached. You will be notified if you are outbid. You are then able to increase your bid further if you wish to continue bidding on the item.

Donated by: Slow Road Photo 710 One-on-one tour of the Military Reserve Base Lieutenant Colonel Marty Schulting will escort you and your immediate family members (or a few of your friends) on a personal tour of the Minneapolis Air Reserve Station located at the Minneapolis International Airport. You will get a tour of a C-130 cargo plane, sit in the cockpit, walk through the cargo bay, and learn how the airplane is able to air drop weapons and equipment to our troops and allies. See and learn about its defensive systems (limited to unclassified capabilities), how it drops equipment while still flying, and how it is able to land in locations where other airplanes are unable to land. If desired, this tour will also include a trip to the air museum on base that includes aircraft dating back to World War II. Additionally, you can talk with Marty about his 23 year military career, which includes flight time in the F-15C Eagle, the B-2 Stealth bomber, the KC-135 Tanker, and now the C-130H cargo plane. WE STRIVE TO MAKE LEARNING A JOYFUL EXPERIENCE. For more than 40 years Groves Academy has provided exemplary fullday and outreach programs for students with dyslexia, ADHD, or other learning disabilities. Our ISACS (Independent Schools Association of the Central States) accredited school enrolls over 280 students in grades 1-12. Average class sizes of eight, research-based instruction, and a supportive, personalized environment enable each student to have a positive school experience and achieve academic success. Some students graduate from Groves; others stay at Groves for several years before transitioning to a school where they can successfully apply the skills and strategies they learned at Groves. Groves' impact reaches beyond our school. The Learning Center serves children and young adults in the community, many whom are not enrolled at Groves but can benefit from the expertise and experience of our teachers and staff. Our Instutute for Professional Learning (IPL) advances the evidence-based literacy instruction and strategies proven successful at Groves through the delivery of teacher training and coaching. This school year the IPL is partnering with 10 schools in both Minneapolis and St. Paul, reaching more than 85 classrooms and 1,900 students.
