e list of people I need to thank is extremely long. So many people along my journey of life and business have made an impression and impacted me in ways that led to this book.
First and foremost: my beautiful and patient wife Jill, who has tirelessly brought me food, quieted the dogs, and dealt with me being barricaded in my o ce while working on this project. She is my epicenter whom I a ectionately call my “Jillyfish.” She has been going with the flow with me on this project for almost three years. e truth is that she is my muse and the source of my energy. Her love and support have been critical to this book reaching its completion. I am deeply and eternally grateful I met you, Jillyfish, and that you agreed to jump on this adventure with me.

My other teacher, Tony Robbins. From when I first met him in the pages of the book Awaken the Giant Within to being one of his Platinum Partners and ge ing direct training from him today, Tony has shaped my entire trajectory. His guidance has been critical to my success. Further, he is also the OG of Groundswell. e very essence of the transformation section (growth loop) I modelled was wri en a er experiencing the results he created for his business ventures.
My two children, Davis and Anna: I am so deeply proud of you, now both part of Groundswell. I could not be more excited about your future and the extent to which you continue to work together. My children are my legacy, and I hope this book and the results of what we are building allows them to make an even bigger impact on the world. May they make a dent in the universe that will be a lot bigger than mine.

Bruce Kasano , who wrote the forward and kicked o my first two season episodes, your insights and unique points of view have really set the tone for the book and Groundswell overall. Two of my biggest mentors, Joe Pine and Don Peppers, who are at the core of my strategies for building my career in marketing and who have influenced this book: thank you.

Guru Singh: when we first dropped the Spiritual Groundswell episode, I had no idea what reverberations of impact it was going to have. Since then, we have spent countless hours working on e Mindful Marketer series, collaborating and co-creating a new way to explore building your business of impact. We would meet each week and film, and it brought me so much joy and insight. Without a doubt, having this time to learn from you has been its own spiritual journey. I deeply enjoy and love our continued friendship. is project had some very significant contributors that I need to really highlight. First, Kimberly Kessler, who was my scribe. She was my tirelessly patient supporter, helping me through the process. She took the time to understand what I was trying to say and give this book life and shape when I didn’t know how to write it on my own. Kimberly, I’m so deeply grateful to have had you working with me on this. And agreeing to experience a Tony Robbins event for book research. Total champ.
You will also notice the unique and original sketches in this book, all done by the incredibly talented and lovely Taylor Kinser. She really created the book I wanted to make. Taylor, without your visuals and design skills, it would not be what it is today.
Susan Casey, author of e Wave: I so appreciate your deep knowledge of waves you’re giving me definitions and details that honestly created this book’s much-needed ending. Your description of inner waves and solitons completed the book perfectly.
I would not have been in touch with Susan if it weren’t for Dr. Elizabeth Lindsey, whom I have grown to deeply respect for the discussions around ancient wisdom, way-finding, and mindful marketing that have been so important to this work. ank you for o cially giving me the Hawaiian name Koa and for the context around how the Hawaiian traditions could be respected and interwoven into this book to help others.
Each of my clients over the years has been a testing ground for so many of these ideas, and I want to underscore a few that have had the most impact. First, Deb and Kim Serovic, whom I enjoyed a decade of catskiing and working with on their brand. ey gave me license to try so many unconventional marketing techniques— especially at the dawn of social media. What a journey of growth. Mitch Hancock of Basecamp, who has become a close friend. We really started a brand that I am so proud of. Annieca Acker, who has been seriously one of the most fun personal brands to work with. anks to her, I started working with Andre Vicario and on his Mod Financial and Mod Jets brands; ge ing to know him, his lovely wife Kim, and his family has been a highlight of the last couple of years. To Craig Bundren, Ma Sadler, Leti and Kenji, is is what is amazing: I have become friends—meaningful friends—with nearly all the people I have had as clients and worked with. I have so many people who are le unmentioned, and some I don’t even know at all, like José from American Airlines, who changed my life over thirty years ago by giving me a ticket home.
Master Co, Jamie Zografos, and so many others I have become friends with in the Tony Robbins ecosystem: what a joy it has been to work with you all.
Recently, I’ve been working with and launching Vertica Fitness with Katrina and Michael Wycko —a true Groundswell from the ground up. I cannot wait to see what happens next and have enjoyed the deep bond and friendship we have made.
So many gi s and li le things people have said . . . e books I have read and people I’ve learned from have contributed to this book. I want to, from the bo om of my heart, thank you all. You are the Groundswell origins that have resulted in this project and its impact on helping others transform business into waves of good.
