He also earned a JD from Cornell University Law School in 1983 where he was named to The Order of the Coif. David has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 1983.

David has a strong commitment to both local and international communities. At Blythedale Children’s Hospital, he has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2008, and served as Board Chair from July 2015 to June 2020. During his tenure on the Board, the Hospital completed numerous capital projects including a 56,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art in-patient building, The Stavros Niarchos Center for Speech and Audiology, a $15 million Day Hospital and Early Childhood Center, and the construction of the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Pediatric Long Term Care Pavilion.

With his wife, Faith (who serves as Board Chair for Crossing Thresholds), David has traveled many times (to resume post COVID-19) with Crossing Thresholds to Nairobi, Kenya to build schools and work with administrators, teachers, parents and children in Nairobi’s Kibera Slum. Four schools have been constructed to date, providing education and two nutritious meals per day to more than 1,200 pre-K to high school children and young adults. During Kibera’s three pandemic-related shutdowns, Crossing Thresholds schools provided lifesaving food distribution to students and their families and other local families in need.

We are proud to support Blythedale Children’s Hospital and each of tonight’s honorees for all of the incredible work they do with the children.
