EZE Life Your Dream is our Desire

A RANGE OF EZE GROUP BENEFITS ONE EXCELLENT SERVICE A new tiered benefits scheme has been launched to ensure EZE Group customers can benefit from a range of lifestyle experiences to suit their budget. Up until a year ago, EZE Credits were redeemable against travel, holidays and travel related services, but in recognition of the fact that different members have different needs and aspirations that has now been replaced by three main tiers of benefits – sapphire, emerald and diamond, plus VIP upgrade which is subject to availability only. All levels benefit from a dedicated concierge service that can be used to book an ever growing variety of goods and services within the entertainment, lifestyle and leisure sectors. Sapphire membership – the entry level - can be used to redeem against a range of purchases including sporting events, education and cultural pursuits, travel, adventure, shows and worldwide attraction tickets. With Emerald membership lifestyle and leisure credits can be redeemed against all of the above, plus a host of other products including luggage, jewellery, home utilities, wine, car concessions through Sytner Group and a pre-payment debit card featuring a host of benefits. The Diamond membership further strengthens your purchasing power with the full range of services and products, plus the benefits of a personal assistant.

EZE Life is the brand new magazine designed to keep you, our members, up-to-date with all the latest news and developments from EZE Group.

How and when EZE credits are used is entirely up to you. There is no “use by” date so they could be redeemed all in one go or spread out over a longer period. Daniel V Darias, managing director of EZE Group Europe, said: “The new membership benefits are designed to give our customers even greater flexibility to book an ever-growing variety of goods and services within the entertainment, lifestyle and leisure arenas. So, whether it’s a tour to Australia, a romantic weekend in London or a family visit to a local theme park, all they need to do is let us know where they want to visit and when they want to go and our specialist booking department will do the rest.” Members can view their account at any time to see how many credits they have used and how many are left in their account. If you are unsure what level you are on or would like to discuss the options available contact EZE Group at info-europe@ezegroup.com

EZE WISH FOR THREE YOUNG BROTHERS After these three young brothers lost their mum to cancer their uncle nominated them to be treated to a very special EZE Wish at St Andrew’s Stadium, home to Birmingham City FC.

“Liam, Matthew and Jake had a fantastic day leading the team out as mascots and it’s an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives,” said Doug.

Nine year-old Liam Kirton and his brothers Jake, aged 6, and Matthew 4 were naturally overwhelmed with grief when their mum Donna lost her 12 month battle with leukaemia last year at the age of just 35.

“To cap it all my brother said to me on the evening that seeing the boys having so much fun had made his day and it was the best he had felt since his wife passed away in September last year.”

Their uncle, Doug Kirton, from Kingstanding in Birmingham, decided that his brave nephews deserved a little bit of joy and nominated them to be mascots for the Blues as part of an EZE Wish initiative we organised as club shirt sponsors and principal partners of BCFC last season.

See pages 4 & 5 for more sponsorship news.

At the Blues game against Derby County, the three boys led out the teams, watched by Doug and their proud dad Trevor. Afterwards the party enjoyed match-day hospitality before witnessing their favourite team record a 3-1 victory.

SPORTS SPONSORSHIP KEEPS EZE IN THE SPOTLIGHT

A number of high profile sponsorships in the world of sport are helping to keep EZE Group in the spotlight. Over the last few months those tuning into Sky Sports to watch either Championship football or World Series darts couldn’t help but notice our distinctive EZE Group logo. Many of our members are big sports fans and through our sponsorship activities we are not only building the profile of the EZE Group brand but re-affirming our position as a world leading provider of leisure and lifestyle experiences Here we focus on some of the sponsorship support that is helping to make EZE Group a familiar name across the UK.

BIRMINGHAM CITY FC SPONSORSHIP GOES WELL BEYOND THE SHIRT

VILLA OLD STARS Aston Villa Former Players Association (AVFPA) is being backed by a major new sponsorship deal from EZE Group. The AVFPA is a non-profit making and fully independent organisation set up to provide care and support for former players and their families in need. The star studded Aston Villa Old Stars team has just completed their 53rd consecutive year of fundraising fixtures. Off the pitch, the association organises a number of social and community events which not only support former players, but other worthy causes and charities. Founder and chief executive Neil Rioch said the EZE Group sponsorship is enabling the AVFPA to build on its success over the last 18 years.

When EZE Group became shirt sponsors and principal partners of Birmingham City FC at the start of last season, we were determined to ensure our support for the club reached out to ordinary fans in the community.

A glittering awards dinner at the ICC in Birmingham, capped a great partnership between EZE Group and BCFC with CEO Dominic O’Reilly presenting Curtis Davis with the Player of the Year Award.

As well as extensive advertising around St Andrew’s Stadium and prominent shirt branding, EZE Group worked with the club to introduce a number of initiatives which would connect with fans.

Ian Dutton, BCFC’s commercial manager paid tribute to EZE Group by saying: “The clear passion from EZE Group to ensure they work with the local Birmingham community was apparent from the start, resulting in one of the best initiatives I have seen since working at the club.

During the season, Blues supporters had the opportunity to win a host of fabulous prizes such as the opportunity to meet players, be mascots for the day or enjoy VIP Hospitality in the EZE Group executive box. Working alongside the local media and social media forums we were also able to give fans unique experiences including the opportunity to line up with the squad in the pre-season photocall and play on the St Andrew’s pitch in an end of season “Bring Your Boots” day (see picture). A real highlight of the sponsorship was our EZE Wishes campaign which recognised and rewarded deserving fans who had overcome personal adversity, worked tirelessly in their local community or shown outstanding support for the team over the years. The campaign attracted high-profile media coverage with 15 memorable wishes being granted during the season, including the opportunity to train with the squad, help out the club kitman on match-day, and be presented with the captain’s armband.

2

“The EZE Wishes campaign enabled those supporters less fortunate than most to experience a once in a lifetime opportunity, from laying the kit out with the kitman, to a mascot package or even training with the first team at the training ground.” Through the EZE Group Foundation, we were also able to leverage our sponsorship to raise much needed funds for a number of major charities (see pages 6&7) including the club’s official charity partner ‘Help Harry Help Others,’ who were donated the front of the shirt for one of the Championship fixtures.

“We are really grateful for the company’s backing which means the funds we raise from games and other events can go towards supporting former players and other worthy causes in the community,” added Neil. One of the highlights of the season was a high profile fund-raising trip to Bulgaria which saw the Old Stars take on a Bulgarian legends’ X1 at the national stadium in Sofia. The game was organised as part of the “Support Stan” campaign to recognise the contribution of Aston Villa club captain and former Bulgarian captain and international Stiliyan Petrov, who was diagnosed with acute leukaemia last year. The game was televised live on national TV in Bulgaria and raised more than £70,000 for various charities including the “Charity Fund for the Children of Bulgaria,” specially selected by the Bulgarian Minister of Health.

“This was a truly magnificent gesture which will live in the heart of many for a long time to come,” added Ian Dutton. Look out for our free to enter competition on page 8 giving you the chance to win a VIP Hospitality package for two in the EZE Group box next season.

EZE WISHES COME TRUE

FRED ENJOYS EZE WISH TREAT FROM NEW YORK TO ST ANDREW’S Blues fans Jessica and Rebecca Ford from New York were nominated for an EZE Wish in recognition of their community work in the aftermath of super storm Sandy. The two sisters, aged 9 and 14 led out the team as mascots at the game against Champions Cardiff after being nominated by their dad Andrew, a Blues fan for over 35 years. “We had a truly memorable day which the girls haven’t stopped talking about,” said Andrew.

Lifelong Blues fan Fred Greaves, aged 78, was rewarded for his outstanding loyalty to the club when he enjoyed a VIP hospitality package with EZE Group at St Andrew’s. Fred, from Wythall, near Birmingham was nominated for an EZE Wish by his friend Lyn Wilson who wrote:

EDDIE’S SPECIAL DAY For his determination in the face of Fragile X syndrome and Autism, Blues fanatic Eddie Hemming had the chance to meet captain Steven Caldwell who presented him with a signed captain’s armband. Eddie was nominated for an EZE Wish by mum Tracey who is also a diehard supporter in the Tilton Road alongside her son, husband Paul and daughter Rosie.

“Fred is a season ticket holder and has been a Bluenose for over 60 years. He never misses a game and even goes to the training ground every Thursday to see them train. I would love him to have VIP hospitality as there is no truer Bluenose anywhere.”

EZE HIT THE BULLSEYE WITH DARTS STARS! Two of the world’s top darts players are being backed under a new sponsorship deal with EZE Group. James Wade, who is currently ranked third in the PDC Order of Merit, and world number 5, Australian Simon Whitlock, are both being sponsored by EZE Group during the Premier League Darts season. Both players are sporting the distinctive EZE Group logo on their shirts and have become EZE Group ambassadors, making personal appearances on behalf of the company. James Wade – known as ‘The Machine’ – boasts an impressive seven major titles, making him the second most successful player in the history of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). The Machine has won both the World Grand Prix and UK Open twice and has also triumphed in the World Matchplay, Championship League and the prestigious Premier League. In 2008, Wade became the first player to beat a dominant Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor in the Premier League, before adding another major title to his growing collection.

2012 European Darts Champion Simon Whitlock has established himself as arguably the best darts player ever born in the southern hemisphere. The Australian is a regular threat in every event he plays, having reached three major finals before taking victory in the ParyPoker.net European Championships.

“We are delighted to be working with EZE Group and it’s tremendous that they have decided to enter into the world of darts for the first time by supporting two of the most popular names in the sport.”

The Wizard has won a whole host of titles on both sides of the globe and has become a firm fan’s favourite after reaching World Championship finals in both the BDO and PDC. He has also been runner-up in the Premier League and World Cup of Darts. Dominic O’Reilly EZE Group’s Chief Executive, said: “With the backing of Sky Sports’ high profile television coverage, darts has enjoyed a huge surge in popularity and has been taken to a different level. We know from our own customer research, that EZE Group members enjoy watching darts and with growing live audiences, we are looking forward to raising our profile through the partnership with both James and Simon over the next 12 months.” Jason Thame, from Modus Sports Management, the agency representing both players, said:

THROUGH EZE GROUP FOUNDATION Charitable causes throughout the UK and Spain are benefitting from a variety of fund raising initiatives organised through the EZE Group Foundation. Since it was formed in 2012 the Foundation has raised thousands of pounds for charities and other community causes, underlining EZE Group’s philosophy that as a business we can really help make a difference to people’s lives.

Here we spotlight some of the charities that have benefitted from our fund-raising activities and highlight forthcoming initiatives which are set to further strengthen the work of the Foundation and those we support.

A WINNING RESULT FROM CHARITY MATCH DAY COLLECTIONS Through our sponsorship of Birmingham City FC we worked with the supporters to bolster funds for a number of worthy local causes. The club’s official charity - Help Harry Help Others - was one of the main beneficiaries, receiving a cheque for more than £5,000 as a result of a whole host of fund raising initiatives including a special day at the Nottingham Forest fixture. For this one off game EZE Group donated the front of the shirt so HHHO could display its logo helping to further raise awareness and valuable funds towards the charity’s work. Thousands of blue and white bracelets were on sale to fans during the game and we also donated VIP hospitality for 10 people and a mascot package to the charity. HHHO was inspired by 11 years-old Blues fan Harry Moseley, who lost his battle against brain cancer in October 2011. All funds raised help vital research into brain cancer and support families of children living with all forms of cancer.

MARATHON EFFORT FOR GET KIDS GOING Our CEO Dominic O’Reilly and colleague Kevin Hewitt put in a marathon effort on the streets of London to raise more than £3200 for the charity Get Kids Going. It was the first time Dominic and Kevin had entered the London Marathon and their big effort followed months of training in two different countries. Dominic focused his training on high altitude work on the island of Tenerife where he is based, whilst closer to home Kevin – who runs EZE Group franchise Synergy Corporation – was a regular visitor to fitness boot camps. The two charitable runners completed the 26 mile route in a credible time of between 4.30 and 5 hours. “It was an amazing day which will live with us for a long time,” said Dominic who is pictured right with Kevin enjoying a well earned pint after the run.

4

The charity’s mission to help cope, help care and help cure has touched the hearts of millions of people including young children. Bracelets have become a powerful symbol for the charity after Harry started making them in the hope that he could raise enough money to fund a cure for brain cancer. Over two years he raised more than £650,000, winning the hearts and minds of others through his determination, love of life and, most of all, his desire to “make a difference.” Harry’s mum and HHHO chairman and founder Georgie Moseley, said: “Harry was a big Blues fan and St Andrew’s was one of the first places he visited to sell the bracelets. We are extremely grateful to the club and sponsors EZE Group for the support they have provided.” To find out more about the charity, please visit www.hhho.org.uk, follow them on twitter - #HHHO Day, @harry_moseley or like their Facebook page by searching for ‘helpharryhelpothers.’

SUPPORTING EDWARD’S TRUST Through the Foundation we also raised more than £2,500 for Birmingham-based charity Edward’s Trust following a match-day collection at the Brighton & Hove Albion fixture. By again teaming up with the club to organise the day we were able to help bolster funds for the charity’s bereavement counselling services. Edward’s Trust was established in 1989 by Peter and Hilary Dent after the death of their son, Edward, aged just 7 from cancer. During the past 23 years the charity has helped thousands of children and families from Birmingham and the West Midlands during serious illness and bereavement.

Steve Pearce from Edward’s Trust was at St Andrew’s to collect a cheque from Gary Smith from the EZE Group Foundation and Rachel Williams, BCFC’s media and charity co-ordinator. They were joined by former Blues favourite Brian “Harry” Roberts. Stephanie Bradbury, Fundraising and Development Manager at Edward’s Trust, said: “We are enormously grateful to the EZE Group Foundation, BCFC and all the fans for supporting our collection.. The Trust needs to raise at least £1,000 each and every day of the year to maintain the services currently available. We do not receive any government funding so the collection will help make a difference.” For further information visit their website www.edwardstrust.org.uk

A GRAND GESTURE FOR MACMILLAN The Birmingham 5k Big Fun Run had an extra 1k added to it - but participants need not have worried about running any further. As part of our sponsorship of The Aston Villa Former Players Association (AVFPA) we donated £1000 to commercial team member Richard Jackson who was representing the Old Stars in the Macmillan fundraiser. Richard revealed that Macmillan is an organisation close to his heart. “Macmillan helped my brother when he was ill and are a fantastic organisation, and I am absolutely thrilled that EZE Group donated £1,000 to the pot – it certainly spurred me on.”

ON YER BIKE FOR INTERNATIONAL CYCLE RIDE An EZE Group team headed by CEO Dominic O’Reilly will be taking part in an international bike ride in September. The team has committed to completing the last leg of the route which aims to cover seven different countries in just seven days. All funds from the incredible cycle challenge will go towards the Birmingham based charity Help Harry Help Others with a target of £250,000 being set by organisers. To find out more visit www.7inseven.co.uk

BACKING GRASS ROOTS FOOTBALL IN TENERIFE Through the EZE Group Foundation we are proud to sponsor CD Buzanada, a local youth team in one of the most deprived areas of Tenerife. As part of the sponsorship we arranged for EZE Group ambassador Steve Staunton, the former Irish International and World Cup star, to run a professional style coaching session for the youngsters.

TENERIFE FIRE FIGHTERS RECEIVE WELCOME BOOST Fire fighting volunteers, who tackled forest blazes in Tenerife, were also given a welcome boost thanks to a charitable donation from our Foundation. A cheque for £1088 was presented to Bomberos Voluntarios Adeje whose members were called upon to tackle the forest fires which spread from Vilaflor to Guia de Isora, devastating homes, farmland, scrub and forest land all over the island. A number of staff and their families working at EZE Group’s HQ in Tenerife were affected by the fires, so the company decided to make the donation as a thank you to the volunteers who risked their lives fighting the flames. Chris Chilcott, from Regency Shores SL on behalf of EZE Group, said: “Given our strong links with Tenerife and the fact that many of our customers from the Midlands come out to the island we felt it was a very worthy cause to support. The volunteers do a great job and were really in the thick of the action.” Daniel V Darias, Managing Director EZE Group, is pictured presenting the donation to the volunteer fire fighters.

SERVICE TAKES THE HASSLE OUT OF TRAVEL

Flexibility and great service are just two of the reasons why Rita Cox and her partner Jim Cartwright are making the most of their EZE Group membership.

“We’re at an age where we like to have someone organise everything for us and with EZE Group membership we get just that,” said Rita.

The retired couple from Canvey Island in Essex first signed up as Emerald members five years ago, having been regular visitors to Tenerife where they had interests in two time share properties.

As well as visiting Tenerife on a regular basis, where they have enjoyed holidays at Golf Del Sur, Rita and Jim have also spent a fortnight at a cottage in Whitby, Yorkshire and enjoyed a week’s break in a river cottage on the Norfolk Broads.

“We were getting older and had concerns about the on-going maintenance costs of our time shares, so decided to talk to EZE Group about the other options available to us,” explained Rita. “Since becoming members I can honestly say we haven’t looked back. We really love the flexibility it gives us; there is always someone to talk to at the end of the telephone and the company can’t do enough for us.” The concierge service has been a particular benefit for Rita and Jim taking the hassle out of all their travel arrangements.

NEW EU DIRECTIVE IS WELCOMED Statements released in April 2013 by both the UK European Consumer Centre and the UK Trading Standards Institute draw a line between the time share industry and the leisure credit scheme offered to EZE Group members. Dominic O’Reilly, CEO of EZE Group, said: “We have argued for some time that the products and services offered through the EZE Group Leisure Credit scheme bears no resemblance to a traditional timeshare product, so we welcome the recognition of the UK European Consumer Centre and the associated agencies which clarifies the position for consumers.”

As well as travel, EZE Group membership also came up trumps when the couple heard the singer Joe Longthorne was performing in Tenerife. “We phoned the office and they organised for us to have a great night including two wonderful seats on a table right at the front by the stage,” explained Rita.

AUSTRALIA NEXT FOR GLOBE TROTTING FRED

Leading consumer groups have recognised that the leisure credit scheme operated by EZE Group is a stand-alone product which falls outside of the scope of the EU Timeshare Directive (2008/122/EC).

The day includes a tour of the ground, pre-match meal and drinks in the EZE Group executive box, post match refreshments and the opportunity to meet the man of the match.

“On one occasion we were due to travel to Spain, but when Jim became quite ill EZE Group was able to cancel the trip for us which was a real relief at the time.”

Despite being in his late 70s, globe-trotting Fred Thompson shows no signs of easing up on his travels. Fred, who describes himself as a ‘young 79,’ has set his sights on a visit to Australia having previously enjoyed a memorable trip to San Francisco which was organised through his EZE Group membership. “I had a wonderful time in July 2012, staying at a superb hotel just off Union Square for 11 days and all for a great price thanks to my EZE Group membership,” said Fred. “I’m thinking about going back again, but also like the idea of visiting Australia with a few stop offs on the way.” Having served in the merchant navy and run his own business, Fred shows no signs of letting up on his travels. “I lost my wife four years ago, so I’m determined to make the most of my time and my EZE membership by taking as many holidays as possible. “I’ve not long come back from the Yorkshire Dales and plan to head out to Tenerife again shortly, using the booking service provided through Everywhere Travel.”
