Das Fluggebiet von Sillian hat eine lange Tradition. Bereits 1986 und 87 fanden hier Gleitschirmwettbewerbe statt. Hoch über dem Pustertal liegt das Fliegen direkt am Südrand des Alpenhauptkamms aber etwas im Einflussbereich der Höhenwinde. Jedoch sorgen zahlreiche Startplätze und Startrichtungen für größtmögliche Flugchancen. Der Thurntaler ist auch Station auf dem langen Weg der Streckenflieger im Drau- bzw. Pustertal von Ost nach West und umgekehrt.  The flight area in Sillian enjoys a long tradition. The paragliding championships even took place here in 1986 and 1987. High above Pustertal flying is direct at the southern edge of the main Alpine ridge, but in an area somewhat affected by the upper winds. However numerous starting areas provide take- off areas and directions for a wide variety of flights. The Thurntaler is also a station on the long route for flight route sections in Drautal and Pustertal, from east to west and the other way round.  La zona di volo di Sillian ha una lunga tradizione. Già nel 1986 e 1987 sono state organizzate gare di parapendio. Sopra la Val Pusteria è possibile effettuare voli direttamente sul versante meridionale della cresta alpina ma in presenza di leggeri venti d’alta quota. Numerose zone di lancio e di direzioni di lancio offrono interessanti alternative. Il Thurntaler è anche una stazione per voli di grande distanza verso la Val Pusteria e la valle della Drava, partendo da est e andando verso ovest e viceversa.

Golzentipp 2.170 m

In traumhafter Lage im oberen Lesachtal zwischen den Gipfeln der Lienzer Dolomiten und dem Karnischen Hauptkamm liegt der Almwiesenrücken um den Golzentipp. Dieses mit Gondelbahn zugängliche Gebiet, ermöglicht Anfängern wie Fortgeschrittenen Flüge höchster Qualität in einer Landschaft und Ruhe, wie sie in den Alpen kaum noch zu finden sind. Obertilliach hat sich in den letzten Jahren eine Insidergemeinde geschaffen, die es schätzt, hier ihren Flugurlaub zu verbringen.  In a dreamy setting in upper Lesachtal between the summits of the Lienz Dolomites and the main Carnic ridge are the ridges of the alpine pastures around the Golzentipp. This area, which is accessible by chair lift, makes it possible for beginners and experts to enjoy flights of the highest quality in scenery and tranquillity which are barely found anywhere else in the Alps. In the last few years Obertilliach has created an ‘insider area’; a great place to spend your flying holiday.  La dorsale erbosa attorno al monte Golzentipp gode di una posizione da sogno nella valle Lesachtal superiore tra le vette delle Dolomiti di Lienz e la cresta carnica. La zona raggiungibile con la seggiovia permette ai principianti e agli esperti, di praticare voli ad altissimo livello immersi in un paesaggio tranquillo, difficile da trovare tra le Alpi. Ad Obertilliach si è formata una comunità di esperti che ha deciso di trascorrere qui le vacanze.
