xʷməθkʷəyəm (Musqueam Indian Band) is thrilled to welcome football fans to our territory for the 2024 Grey Cup Festival! In the spirit of sport and collaboration, we raise our hands in gratitude to everyone who worked hard to make the Grey Cup’s West Coast return so memorable. A special thank you to the CFL, BC Lions, and Grey Cup Festival for their dedication to reconciliation and working respectfully with Musqueam.
Chief Wayne Sparrow Musqueam Indian Band
We are delighted that the City of Vancouver is hosting the 2024 Grey Cup on the shared, traditional, unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəyəm (Musqueam Indian Band), Sḵwxwú7mesh (Squamish Nation), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). We can achieve steps towards reconciliation through sport when our Indigenous cultures are celebrated and when efforts are made to remove barriers to participation, especially for our youth. Our hands are raised to everyone involved in the Grey Cup Festival and to all the fans!
Chief Jen Thomas səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation)
Sḵwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation) alongside the xʷməθkʷəyəm (Musqueam Indian Band) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation) would like to extend a warm welcome to our shared traditional territories. Our deep connection to this land goes back thousands of years, and we hope you love K’emk’emeláy (Vancouver) as much as we do.
At Sḵwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw, we consider sport to be a form of medicine. We believe through the power of sport, we can unite everyone, and this Grey Cup represents an opportunity for us all to become family.
This Grey Cup is also more than a football game. By including local First Nations in Grey Cup in a meaningful way, it also provides an opportunity for the rest of Canada to see Vancouver as a national leader, and true city of Reconciliation.
We hold our hands up to everyone involved in organizing this year’s Grey Cup Festival in Vancouver, to those of you who have traveled near and far to attend, and to the two teams who have made it to the Championship game!
Chen kw’enmantúmi (thank you)
As Premier of British Columbia and Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2024 Grey Cup and Grey Cup Festival in Vancouver, held on the territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations.
The Grey Cup is Canada’s largest annual sporting event, and we are thrilled to see football fans throughout B.C. and Canada gathering to share in the excitement and pride of the return of the Grey Cup to B.C. for the first time since 2014.
The 111th Grey Cup represents more than a game. It’s a celebration of Canadian football, athleticism and sportsmanship that unites communities from coast to coast to coast. Here in B.C., we are particularly excited to showcase our province’s warm hospitality, commitment to reconciliation, world-class tourism, and vibrant culture.
The 2024 Grey Cup Festival is expected to be the CFL’s most memorable festival, with an estimated 500,000 attendees. Exciting activities like ziplines, parties, cultural dis-
plays, immersive football experiences, and a diverse lineup of entertainment promise to create unforgettable family-friendly experiences and a sense of community for everyone.
Our government is proud to support the 2024 Grey Cup and Grey Cup Festival alongside local sponsors, celebrating the positive impact of sport, legacies of hosting major events, and benefits to local economies throughout the province.
Whether you’re here to cheer for your team at BC Place or enjoy the festivities, we encourage you to explore everything B.C. has to offer.
We wish you a fantastic experience at the 111th Grey Cup and Grey Cup Festival.
Hon. David Eby, KC Premier of British Columbia
Hon. Lana Popham Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sports

Welcome to the 111th Grey Cup and 2024 Grey Cup Festival!
On behalf of the 2024 Grey Cup Festival Steering Committee, we are thrilled to welcome you to Vancouver for what promises to be an unforgettable week of celebration, culminating in the 111th Grey Cup game. We extend our deepest thanks to our co-hosts, government and corporate partners, and all the fans whose support has made this monumental event possible.
This year’s Grey Cup Festival is set to be something truly special. For the first time in a decade, the Grey Cup returns to Vancouver, coinciding with the BC Lions’ historic 70th season. We’re incredibly proud to bring the game back to this city and showcase our vibrant football community to the entire country. This moment marks the fulfillment of a vision we set out to achieve when we bid on the 2024 Grey Cup Festival—hosting the largest and most exciting Grey Cup in its 111-year history. And we believe we’ve delivered on that promise.
With over 500,000 attendees expected and more than $100 million in economic impact for the region, this year’s festival will not only engage local and provincial fans but will also unite the country. From coast to coast, fans will be watching as we celebrate the sport that brings us all together.
The Grey Cup is about community and connection—values that underpin the ethos of the CFL and the BC Lions Football Club. The passion for the Lions has been on an upward trajectory over the last two years, and this festival will elevate that energy to a whole new level.
