Bergmann's Andrew Raus Nominated Fellow Designation by APA New York Chapter Andrew Raus, senior vice president of national architecture, engineering and planning firm Bergmann, has been honored as an Upstate Fellow by the American Planning Association’s (APA) Upstate NY Chapter. Raus is the third person to be bestowed this designation from the chapter, and as such, serves as the chapter’s nominee for induction into the Andrew Raus national College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners (FAICP), the highest honor the AICP bestows upon a member. The AICP College of Fellows nomination process is biennial, with nominations for the Class of 2022 accepted until August 2021. A 14-year employee of Bergmann, Raus started the firm’s Planning Group, which evolved into Planning and Design and has been an integral part of Bergmann’s growth. He has worked on a wide range of planning and implementation projects throughout New York State including, comprehensive plans, zoning and form-based codes, downtown development strategies, brownfield and waterfront revitalization plans, watershed master plans, transportation corridor studies and parks and trails master plans.
As a professional planner, Raus has facilitated more than 300 public and committee meetings. Recently, his project portfolio has included ROC the Riverway in Rochester, New York, the Town of Perinton Comprehensive Plan, City of Rochester PD -12 Zoning Update, Xerox Plaza Redevelopment Master Plan, and the Auburn Brownfield Opportunity Area. “Over the course of his career, Andy has left an indelible mark on the planning profession and on our firm with his creative approach to a wide variety of project types,” said Pietro (Pete) Giovenco, PE, President and CEO, Bergmann. “I think I speak for all of his colleagues and clients in congratulating him on this well-deserved honor. I look forward to seeing the impact Andy continues to make both professionally and with his continued community involvement.” The Upstate Fellow recognition acknowledges AICP members for their outstanding contributions as a professional planner. To be nominated, the Upstate Fellow’s actions must have resulted in demonstrably significant and transformational improvements to the field of planning and in the communities in which they live and work. Upstate Fellow designation is bestowed on AICP members who have shown a level of excellence in the profession, including instruction and mentoring, research, service, and leadership. q
Beardsley Architects + Engineers News Trujillo Joins Beardsley Architects + Engineers
Beardsley Architects + Engineers announced that Roberto Trujillo has joined the firm as Architectural Designer in the Albany, NY office. Mr. Trujillo is a 2018 graduate of Alfred State SUNY College of Technology with a bachelor of architecture. In his previous positions, Mr. Trujillo served as architectural designer and project manager and brings this diverse experience in design, project visualization, and management to the firm.
