President’s Message

Joseph Dombrowski, PE M/E Engineering RES President 2018 - 2019 Well, the weather has definitely changed and in my opinion not for the better; colder wetter and rainier now but it did not appear to dampen the spirits of the enthusiastic throng of trick or treaters I had last night. We had a tour of the U of R's Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) on October 26th (many thanks go to Greg Gdowski for setting it up, and Lynne for the name tags!). The tour was fascinating and the reception after the tour provided a splendid opportunity for camaraderie with our fellow engineers! Hopefully it was the first of many events RES will hold. Planning has begun for the RES Gala and the Engineering Symposium next April; if you have any input, please contact us via the RES. Also, we recently made some minor modifications to the RES bylaws (removing some anachronisms, allowing the use of email for voting by the membership, removing some age old typographical errors and removing the names of several specific sub committees whose names have changed or whose activities have been subsumed by other groups); the current bylaws are on the RES website at: http://www.roceng.org/Constitution-&-By-Laws. That's all for now. Hopefully when you read this, snow will still be a long way off around here, but I suspect it won't be. Joe Dombrowski RES President res news - president’s message
