lthough social distancing made things look a little different on Wednesday, September 9, the Walton County Chamber presented another fantastic Power of Business Luncheon at Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa. Megan Harrison, Chamber president, welcomed everyone and thanked Northwest Florida State College for sponsoring the event. As attendees enjoyed lunch, Megan shared about the Walton Chamber’s mentor program and welcomed attendees to become mentors. She also provided updates on the Chamber’s upcoming fall golf tournament taking place on November 12. Dr. Devin Stephenson from Northwest Florida State College shared the school’s new vision and motivated all in attendance. He discussed the President’s Leadership Academy, which will enable participants to deepen their understanding of higher education topics at the national, state, and local levels where they will engage with peers to discuss challenges and propose solutions grounded in research and best practices. Stephenson also noted the college’s focus on certifications that will enable students to get jobs that will have a $326M impact on our region.
