The Chelmford

The rustic style of The Chelmford nestles beautifully into the backdrop of The Reserve at Lake Keowee. The exterior of this plan features reclaimed Dan River Mill brick, a slate roof, shuttered windows with Cyprus lintels, and a stone-accented entry. In addition to the style, the great energy efficiency and little to no exterior maintenance make this house especially appealing to the area and today’s homeowners. After opening the front door of the house, the visitor is greeted by an open floor plan with a raised ceiling great room, an octagonally trayed dining room, and a kitchen open to the dining room and the keeping room. With the reclaimed Dan River Mill brick, the classic slate roof, the decorative shutters, and the English courtyard, The Turnberry plan brings to life an abundance of Old World charm. The concrete, paver-accented driveway, the oak lintels, and the fieldstone around the “V” grooved front door continue to combine the nostalgia of long ago and the modern look of today. The interior of the house features an open floor plan with a fireplace in the hand hewn beamed great room. The Berry Group & Platt Architecture The Berry Group has partnered with Al Platt and Platt Architecture to design the Richland Creek Cottage. Platt Architecture has been designing mountain and lake homes for many years and their homes have been featured in many local and regional magazines. Their work over the last few decades has helped define mountain architecture in the region. Platt Architecture designed the 2006 HGTV dream home that was located in western NC. Platt’s office is located in nearby Brevard, NC and he is available to assist throughout the construction process. The Berry Group believes that working with a great designer makes the end project superior and makes the build process much easier for the client.
