12 Japan Revealed Korea Bay

Surrounded by thick forests and mountains, Koya-San is home to over 2000 shrines, temples, towers, stupas and other religious buildings. A couple of hours from Osaka by train, this 3000 feet high religious hub is regarded as one of the three most sacred mountains in all of Japan. Sea of Japan (East Sea)

ITINERARY

Day 1 Kyoto (Sat) Be greeted by your local tour leader at the hotel before dinner at a local restaurant. Japan Revealed

Osaka Hiroshima Miyajima

Day 6 Miyajima An emotional morning at the Atomic Bomb Peace Museum and Peace Memorial Park. Ferry to Miyajima Island and a stay China Sea in a traditional Japanese ryokan.

Day 4 Mount Koya-San Board a train for Koya-San holy mountain, home to many sacred monasteries. Stay overnight in authentic shukubo temple quarters.

Day 5 Hiroshima Ride the Shinkansen bullet train to Hiroshima, stopping along the way to see Himeji Castle.

Day 7 Tsumago Train to the old village of Tsumago where cars are prohibited in the main street and cables run underground to maintain the medieval atmosphere. Spend the night in a family-owned ryokan.
