Letter from our Executive Director Every year brings new excitement, energy and there are always changes that lie just around the next corner. This year was no different for the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce. We came off of a hard 2020 just like everyone else but kept our commitment to our members by providing opportunities for marketing through our different events and publications; leadership both in and out of the office; resources and education through things like timely emails, lunch & learns and major events.
We are finishing the year strong as we have already gained 316 new members in 2021 and a new sponsorship in Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home and the year isn’t quite over. This annual report reflects a lot of change and growth for the Chamber of Commerce. Most importantly though, this year serves as our 115th year in existence so this report shows legacy and value in the work we have done for so many years.
We are proud to partner with great organizations like the City of Greensburg, Economic Development Corporation Greensburg Decatur County, Decatur County Community Foundation, Main Street Greensburg and Visit Greensburg. Having a seat at the table allows us to stay on top of different projects and ideas as we all collaborate together in an effort to grow our communities.
It goes without saying, but our Board of Directors help forge the path ahead with great vision and ideas for this Chamber as we work to support our well over 300 members.
Someone asked me one day what the Chamber does, and I simply replied, “We help”. We help young entrepreneurs, small business and large organizations; city and county businesses. So whether you are a business in Decatur County or you do work in Decatur County, we are here to help and support you every step of the way. As I write this, we are in the beginning stages of a rebranding campaign. We are so excited to roll out a new look, new ideas and new programs in 2022 that will only help elevate your business platform.
To the Board – you rock! Simply put, you are the best and together as a team, we are making a difference here in Decatur County. To our members, Thank You. Thank you for allowing us to serve you! And to our future members, get ready because we have a ton of ideas and energy so this is definitely one train you will want to jump on!
Bring on 2022!

LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP S&G Seeds was awarded a liifetime membership during our 2019 Annual Meeting. Arthur C. Stewart sold his first seed in corn in 1918 at the age of 30. As a leader in hyrbrid corn technology he passed the love for farming on to his children who carried on the growing seed business. Fast forward to 2018, the Stewart family and employees celebrated 100 years of being in the seed business which is still in operation today, now known as three different companies: Stewart Seeds, S&G Seeds, and Stewart Select Angus. Three companies with one mission to help farmers find success.
