This year the Utah Boat Show features over 250,000 square foot exhibit space with $30 million worth of new 2017 boats, recreational equipment and marine accessories. Boat displays will include: bass boats, ski boats, wakeboard boats, cruisers, family pleasure boats, houseboat Dealers, fishing boats, pontoons, speedboats, drift boats and personal water craft. The latest boating accessories will also be on sale including: waterskis, wakeboards, wakeskates, tubes, boat towers, sound equipment, lights, boat covers, clothing, lifejackets, wetsuits, and swimsuits.
EXPERIENCE THE RAIL JAM Pro Riders like Scott Byerly will be demonstrating the newest gear and the latest tricks at the all new “Wake Park.” The Rail Jam will also feature the new 280’ double pond with the System 2.0 cable continually pulling the riders over the rails into the landing ponds. See the article on page 6 for details. DOG HUNTING, AGILITY AND OBEDIENCE DEMOS Dog Training Elite is the valley’s premier dog training center. They’ll be giving personal protection, obedience and agility demonstrations every 1/2 hour on the South end of the show (See map on page 10).
FLY TIE THEATER The very popular Fly Tying Theater, an animated presentation of fly tying techniques demonstrated by local pro fly tying experts, is back again this year. Nationally-recognized fishing experts will talk fishing during the four-day event. Featuring Billy Cosby and several others.
BASS FISHING STAGE Learn bass fishing from the pros at the Jarret Edwards Fishing Stage, Thursday through Sunday at the East end of the Boat Show (See map on page 10). This year’s instructors include: Jarrett Edwards, Clif Gallagher and Jake Hammer.

SCOTT BYERLY: Scott has consistently been at the forefront of the wakeboarding industry through his innovate ability to progress the sport in ways never thought possible. Through a decade of progressive tricks, board designs, artist board graphics and contest formats, Scott has always embodied the unconventional aspects of the sport. His unique style and vision helped create the sport’s recognition worldwide. Scott continues to break boundaries with the birth of his new company, Byerly Boards, giving Byerly the opportunity to expand and focus on new design concepts from boards, board graphics, accessories and more. Scott has chosen a diverse group of people to help carry out his unique style and exemplify his visions. This past year Scott selected a small group of individuals that would represent the brand and showcase his style of riding. The Byerly team riders consist of Kyle Murphy, Robby Jacques, Ross Gardner, Bret Little, and George Daniels. Scott has paved the way for his team to excel in all areas of the sport. In addition to the board company, Scott also dedicates his time to progressing the sport of wake skating. Over the past three years, Scott has held a wake skate only contest known as the Toe Jam. This contest has grown from one stop at the Projects to a cross-country tour to show all aspects of wake skating. From cable parks to pool jams, the Toe Jam has quickly become the most prestigious event in the sport and continues to pick up momentum every year. Scott continues to pave the way for up and coming riders by dedicating his life and vision to instill the longevity of the sport.

CHRIS SULLIVAN Chris “Sully” Sullivan has had good run in the water-ski industry. As a pro tour competitor through the 90s early 2000’s, he earned several podium finishes and placed second behind Andy Mapple at the Orlando stop in 1999. Sully worked for HO Sports as a team skier, and when he retired from pro skiing, his job responsibilities phased into a brand manager position. Event management and production? He’s done that, too, heading up the U.S. Open at Downtown Disney in 2006. Now, as the VP of Global Branding at Radar Skis, his journey continues in a sport that he loves just about more than anything.

PARKS BONIFAY Bonifay was born in Pensacola, Florida. He became a professional wake boarder in 1994. Parks took the wakeboarding world by storm as a 14-year-old, winning the X-Games in his first visit. He has held many major titles including the Pro Wakeboard Tour titles in 1999 and 2001. When his dad put him on skis at a young age, he became, according to the Guinness World Records, the youngest water skier in the world at just six months, 28 days old. Parks became the first documented wake boarder to land the 1080 (a switch toe-side 1080), doing so at a Bill Doster photo shoot in 1999. Bonifay was a recurring star on MTV’s extreme action sports show Nitro Circus. He is sponsored by Ronix, Fox, Red Bull, Spy, MasterCraft, and Performance Ski & Surf. A full-length feature documentary on Parks’ life was released on August 21, 2009, aptly titled “The Parks Documentary”. It chronicles the story of Park’s life, from his roots in water skiing and show skiing via his parents and grandparents, to his exploits, accomplishments and sheer dominance of the world of wakeboarding the past 12 years.
ERIC RUCK Eric is the Ronix team captain. His Ronix teammates say, “Ruck is the man. His contagious good vibes, carry on thru our team and make him the leader in so many ways.” Ruck is another rider who has done it all and won it all. He has pro tour titles, world champions, trick of the years, award winning shapes and constructions to his name. But he would like to be known nothing more, or nothing less as the rider and friend that people can always count on.

SHAWN WATSON Florida’s Shawn Watson grew up on the water and started wakeboarding at the age of 12. Since then, Shawn has taken the sport by storm, claiming the Rookie of the Year award, multiple Pro Tour stop victories and two national titles. Shawn is a solid wake rider and just seems to dominate the competition out on the rails.
