Blackthorn salt is a premium sea salt made using a traditional, eco-friendly process. Originating from Scotland, it is crafted through a unique method involving blackthorn bushes. Seawater is filtered through a series of these branches, which act as natural sieves, removing impurities and enriching the water with minerals.
The concentrated brine is then evaporated to produce pure, flavorful salt crystals. Blackthorn salt is valued for its complex taste and high mineral content, making it a favorite among chefs and food enthusiasts. Its sustainable production and artisanal quality also contribute to its growing popularity.
For almost 150 years, the name Brodies has been synonymous with the finest tea and coffee blends from around the world. From a company steeped in tradition, Edinburgh Tea & Coffee Company remains a family business and as such they have maintained the essential artisan craft of tea blending and coffee roasting, whilst bringing production techniques up to the 21st Century.
