hether you’re two or you’re eighty-two, Holland Cross Dental Centre is the place to go for all your dental needs. The convenient location close to the Queensway and and Transitway are just the start of why you can trust your smile with the professional and caring staff at Holland Cross Dental Centre. Dr. Derek Turner and Dr. Berne Reesor founded Holland Cross Dental Centre in July of 1989. The Turner team is a vital component to the success of the office. Dr. Turner enjoys teaching and clinical dentistry and has been practicing for over thirty years. Dr. Reesor is semi-retired, living in Brockville and is at the Centre when other dentists are on vacation. With eighteen dental operatories, ten hygienists, five dentists and seven assistants, you can be sure that you’re in capable hands. The staff at Holland Cross Dental Centre understand that some dental procedures can seem intimidating, which is why they take the utmost care to explain every aspect of your visit. Knowing what to expect and why will help you feel more comfortable. Holland Cross Dental Centre has gone green, using a digital x-ray process to examine teeth. Not only does this method expose you to less radiation than it takes to microwave your cup of morning coffee, it also means there are no disposable radiographs, heavy
metals, lead lined packets and solutions used in the process. Holland Cross Dental Centre is at the forefront of technological innovation. Crown and bridge treatment will restore lost teeth, support remaining teeth and help you maintain optimum dental health. At Holland Cross Dental Centre we are able to provide different dental technologies to patients. Usually when a crown is required to repair a broken tooth, it is a procedure that involves several visits. At Holland Cross Dental Centre, we have a process that is both streamlined and extremely innovative using an advanced instrument called CEREC. Cutting-edge innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less discomfort and creating satisfying results. CEREC® is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. The dentist can restore a tooth in a single appointment using a high-quality tooth coloured ceramic material. This process creates biocompatible, non-metallic, natural looking restorations from durable high-quality ceramic materials without the need of temporary fillings. Your replacement tooth is manufactured right on site with CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and milling machine in one instru-
ment. The dentist uses a special camera to take an accurate picture of the tooth preparation. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a colour computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD technology to design the restoration. Then CAM takes over and automatically creates the restoration while you wait. Finally, the dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of the tooth. For minor procedures Holland Cross Dental Centre offers no-drill fillings with Air abrasion, also called “microabrasion”, a method of tooth structure removal considered an alternative to the usual dental drill. You will save both time and the need for anesthetic. Holland Cross Dental Centre is pursuing its commitment to innovation through a glassed-in operating theatre, which allows Dr. McCullough to work with colleagues to conduct an Implant Mentorship program. The use of a video camera allows other dentists to watch the procedures, such as a sinus lift or sinus bumps, gum grafts, and implant placements. Dr. Robert L. Ganske, feels your pain; when he was young, he received a hockey injury that required extensive dental work, and for over twenty years his commitment has been to understanding patient needs. He has also donated his time as a dentist to help the underprivileged in Ecuador.
Holland Cross’s Dr. John E Hill is also interested in implementing the latest technology; using the Bioloase MD a dental laser and the orthodontic technique, Invisalign, an alternative to full mouth braces. The staff is comfortable addressing a variety of complicated dental issues. Dr. Timothy Winlow, for example, completed a Multidisciplinary Residency Training program at the Montreal General Hospital. As a result, Dr. Winlow thrives on treating patients with complex medical conditions, and he has gained extensive prosthodontic and surgical experience. This combination of professionalism, technological innovation, experience and caring means Holland Cross Dental Centre is the place to go for all your family’s dental needs.
