CareerEdge Funders Collaborative is proud to announce it has awarded more than $325,000 to 13 local employers to support the training and advancement of their workforces. With a total employer investment of more than $1.2M, this year’s round of Upskilling Workers Grants will help train over 500 employees, and provide the opportunity for over 200 promotions across the 13 companies.

These investments are forecasted to produce an increase of nearly $1M in total earnings and benefits for the employees going through CareerEdge funded training.

Incumbent worker training increases skill sets, leading to higher wages and improved employee retention. In return, the community benefits from an increased number of job opportunities as well as improved standard of living associated with increased wages.

“This funding allows us to provide training to both hourly employees and our front-line leaders allowing them to develop and grow with the company, said Kathy Alder, Director of Human Resources at ChrisCraft. “We look forward to our continued partnership with Career Edge and the ability to develop our workforce.”

Upskilling Workers Grant Funding is a signature initiative of CareerEdge. Once a year, CareerEdge accepts grant applications from manufacturing, healthcare, insurance, and skilled trades sector employers who can make a compelling case that CareerEdge’s “Employer Partnership Model” will help them accelerate promotions for incumbent workers, while speeding job creation, and improving their bottom line. This model helps employers close skills gaps and speed the advancement of incumbent and new workers.
