Two years ago, I began my first term as the Mayor of Beverly. Since then, I have been reminded each and every day of the talented and dedicated people like yourselves who live and work in our community. Your hard work and dedication is what makes Beverly great and organizations such as the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce help us thrive. Since taking office, we have worked on many initiatives, including revitalizing Beverly’s downtown and waterfront, which has seen the removal of the Designated Port Area, which had handcuffed attempts to redevelop our harbor front for nearly 40 years. We have also worked cooperatively with many community partners, and our downtown is full of life – with a new Cultural and Arts District, and with an invested, proactive business community, more and more people are making Beverly their destination. Key projects such as the middle school, construction of our new connector road at Sohier Road and Brimbal Avenue, our Route 1A/Rantoul Street Road project and the rezoning of the Bass River are all underway. We are also working to bring high quality employers and jobs to Beverly as well as support entrepreneurs who want to invest in our community. Beverly has always been a great place to live, work, and raise a family. Beverly has always been a great place to build a life. Everything we do is focused on making sure Beverly continues to be this great community. I look forward to working with all of you to make certain of it. Sincerely yours,

The Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce is your best connection to services, other businesses, employers, and networking opportunities. It’s the most effective, affordable marking investment you can make. Our Chamber has over 450 members and is one of the largest Chambers of Commerce in Massachusetts, according to the Boston Business Journal. There is strength in numbers. Through your membership investment, you help other businesses while growing your own business. It’s a win-win for you and our business communities. According to a web-based survey of 2,000 adults nationwide conducted by The Schapiro Group, an Atlanta based market research firm, the following lists a number of important findings about how consumers and business owners perceive the local chamber of commerce and the businesses that are their members. For example: When consumers know that a business is a member of the local chamber, they are 44% more likely to think favorably about it. Consumers who are told that a business is a chamber member are 51% more likely to be highly aware of it and 57% more likely to think positively of its local reputation. Consumers are 63% more likely to buy goods and services in the future from a company that they believe is a member of the local chamber of commerce.

To support and enhance the business community by providing an environment that cultivates business-to-business relationships and educational programs benefiting our members and to play a leading, visible role in our communities with a strong voice on business issues which affect our members.
When business decision-makers believe that a business is a chamber member, they are 37% more likely to think favorably of the business, 51% more likely to be highly aware of it, 58% more likely to think positively of its local reputation, and 59% more likely to buy goods and services from it. Regarding the chamber’s impact on the local economy, 82% of respondents believe that the local chamber of commerce helps create jobs and promotes local economic development. The results of the Schapiro study are clear. Positive perception increases among consumers and business owners when a business is identified as a member of the local chamber of commerce.

Greater Beverly Business Awards - February 8, 2017 Each year the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce hosts the Greater Beverly Business Awards at Danversport Yacht Club to celebrate the dedication and commitment of the business talent and the entrepreneurial spirit that exists within Beverly and now surrounding communities. This upscale event recognizes the exceptional talent of the business men and women who make a difference in our Business Community. In addition to the business awards, the Greater Beverly Chamber also presents the Leslie S. Ray Hall of Fame Award to an individual who has made a significant difference within the business community and for the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce. Please join us this year on February 10th. 13th Annual Health & Wellness Expo - March 25, 2017 Saturday, March 25th, 20167, 10am-3pm at North Shore Mall in Peabody. Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your business to thousands of potential customers on the north shore. The Greater Beverly, Peabody Area and Salem Chambers of Commerce are staging the 12th annual expo to give your business the opportunity to take advantage of the incredible Saturday foot traffic at this busy mall. Legislative Breakfast The Legislative Breakfast series is a premier legislative and political forum. Each breakfast unites compelling, well-known speakers and state legislators with more than 100 business leaders. The series strikes a balance between public policy and intriguing dialogue while presenting the opportunity to develop strong relationships with legislators and public officials.
Health and Wellness Expo - North Shore Mall
Greater Beverly Business Showcase This Business Expo and networking event will be held this year at the North Shore Music Theatre. The event will begin at 5pm with networking and cocktails in the Theatre lobby, along with a short presentation in the Theatre by NSMT owner Bill Hanney, previewing their upcoming 2017 season. After that short on-stage presentation, the event will move across the courtyard to the Theatre Arts and Education Building for the Greater Beverly Business Showcase, where we expect at least 50 businesses to exhibit their products or services until 8pm. This event will be promoted to hundreds of North Shore businesses, residents and North Shore Music Theatre patrons. Over 450 people attend this highly publicized event.

Annual Golf Tournament - June 19 The annual Golf Tournament is held at the beautiful Beverly Golf and Tennis Club. This Best Ball Tournament is scheduled this year on June 19th at noon and starts with a boxed lunch, then a shotgun start at 1:30. For only $125, you receive lunch, 18 holes of golf, a cart, a fabulous dinner, a live auction and great door prizes. Take a shot to win $1,000,000, and try to sink a hole in one to win a NEW car. Bankers also compete for the Bankers Cup. Over 120 golfers attend this event. Annual Fall Gala - $10K Game - October This well attended event will be held this year in October. Dinner, cash bar, prizes and auction items are just some of the reasons our event is a big success each year. Over 250 local business leaders attend with a strong representation from the local business communities of Beverly, Danvers, Hamilton and Wenham. At this themed event we will give away $10,000.00.

Sponsored and produced by the Greater Beverly Chamber of Commerce. #KEEPITLOCAL Our Keep it Local campaign seeks to encourage local citizens and businesses to keep their dollars in their community by shopping in Beverly, Danvers, Hamilton and Wenham stores, eating in local restaurants, using services, supporting community events and local businesses. The “Keep It Local” flyers and door decals can be found all around the Downtowns and business districts that the GBCC support.
