Jing Liu. Architect Jing Liu was born in Nanjing, China, and studied at New Orleans’ Tulane University School of Architecture. She moved to New York in 2004 and in 2008, co-founded the award-winning New York firm SO-IL with Dutch architect Florian Idenburg. SO-IL emphasizes mission-driven cultural projects as an integral part of the urban fabric. Its paradigm-shifting projects include the Kukje Gallery in Seoul and the upcoming CTF Museum in Hong Kong. Liu’s perspective extends outside the conventional architectural platform through her many artist collaborations and curatorial partnerships. She is also an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, as well as a board member at the influential Van Alen Institute in New York.

Susan Scott. After working at such notable firms as James KM Cheng Architects and McFarlane Green Biggar Architects + Designers, Susan Scott founded Scott & Scott Architects with her husband David in 2012. Working within their family home in Vancouver, the pair works at all scales, and their portfolio includes many beloved local haunts such as the Bestie eatery, Kin Kao and Torafuku, as well as a number of handsome houses and cabins in the British Columbia region. They are also known to design furniture and lighting fixtures for their projects. In 2016, they were awarded The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Young Architect Award, which recognizes architects 40 years old or younger for excellence in design, leadership and service to the profession. Last year, Scott & Scott Architects was named an Emerging Voice by The Architectural League of New York.
