When it comes to choosing an appropriate nursing home for a loved one, Tulsa readers vouch for Saint Simeon’s Episcopal Home, which provides several levels of care, including medication assistance, dressing and grooming, whirlpool baths or showers and daily housekeeping services. This level of care is what makes Saint Simeon’s tops in Tulsa. Oklahoma Methodist Manor, coming in second this year, offers smaller houses for residential nursing care. The high level of care is what earned Sterling House the second spot in this year’s survey. Spanish Cove Retirement Village offers 71 private rooms and suites at the Pavilion, a level of continuing care. Residents have their own assigned staff, and high security and privacy means that loved ones can feel safe. For this, and many other reasons, Spanish Cove rounds out our top three in Oklahoma City.

Ophthalmologist When there’s something wrong with the eyes, ophthalmologists can be the saviors. Dr. Mark Abel at Triad Eye Medical Clinic specializes in removing cataracts, corneal transplants, laser surgeries and refractive surgeries. He is an experienced eye surgeon that has performed more than 25,000 LASIK surgeries. Dr. Blane Snodgrass and Dr. Robert Zoellner share the top spot this year. Dr. Snodgrass specializes in eye examinations, as well as treating infections and injuries. His office also offers the latest in contact lens technology. Dr. Zoellner, who has two locations, offers the latest in technology to help evaluate and find the best way to correct vision. Dr. Zoellner also treats eye conditions like myopia, astigmatism, hyperopia and presbyopia. Dr. Denise Bode Johnson and Dr. Denise Roddy share the second spot. Dr. Bode Johnson specializes in exams for patients with diabetes, eye infections and eye injuries and provides standard eye care. Dr. Roddy also provides standard eye services and can help patients suffering from low vision and eye diseases, including cataracts and glaucoma. Dr. Norman Hinkle and Dr. Jerry West share the third spot on this year’s Tulsa survey. Dr. Hinkle provides comprehensive eye exams for adults as well as for children. He also provides several
