DEALING WITH THE PRESSURE OF SPORTS COMPETITION Sports are meant to be fun and exciting! Because someone wins and someone loses the competition can also make kids feel pressure. A little pressure is OK but too much can lead to unwanted anxieties. One way to relieve some pressure is to be ready to play. Practicing will help you improve your game and your team will learn to work together. The better prepared, the better you will feel. Also, always get a good night’s rest and make sure you have a well balanced meal before the big game. If you really feel the pressure is too much it might be time to take a break. Remember, the game is not about winning or losing but about having fun.
