SPECIAL INTEREST BLENDED BABYSITTING AND PEDIATRIC CPR/FIRST AID

This blended course for pediatric CPR/first aid combines awardwinning, engaging, and interactive online simulation learning plus an in-person classroom session to learn and practice critical life-saving skills for certification. This course covers a variety of topics including preventing accidents and illnesses, basic first aid, reviewing choking procedures, rescue breathing, and making professional decisions in babysitting. This class is 90% participation. There will be a 30-minute lunch break so please provide your own lunch, snack, and drink. Dates: Saturdays (January 8, February 12, March 19, April 16) Time: 9:00 – 2:30 pm Ages: 11+ years old Fee: $87 Member / $97 Non-member Instructor: Grant Williams

BLENDED LEARNING CPR

This blended course for CPR/first aid combines award-winning, engaging, and interactive online simulation learning plus an in-person classroom session to learn and practice critical life-saving skills for certification. This course prepares you to rescue victims who are experiencing cardiopulmonary distress. Course includes information on adult, child, and infant CPR, along with first aid for a variety of conditions including bleeding, injuries to bones, muscles and joints, sudden illness, and heat and cold injuries. Successful participants earn two certificates: American Red Cross Community CPR (valid for two years), and ARC Community First Aid (valid for two years). There will be a 30-minute lunch break so please provide your own lunch, snack, and drink. TEXAS LICENSE TO CARRY

There are many advantages to getting your License To Carry (LTC). This class meets all training requirements needed to apply for your LTC. Topics covered: laws justifying force and deadly force in self-defense, regulations on carry, verbal de-escalation, handgun use, and safe storage. Following the class, students must go to Shoot Smart indoor range in Grand Prairie to take the basic marksmanship shooting test. Bring lunch to eat in class. Additional range fee of $20 is paid to the instructor at the range. Dates: Saturday, January 22 and Saturday, March 12 Time: 8:00 am – 2:00 pm Ages: 21+ years old Fee: $89 Member / $99 Non-member Instructor: Group 6 Training

TEXAS CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY

There is NO training requirement to engage in “constitutional carry,” but all of the laws regulating force and firearms still apply. There are different regulations on carry depending on whether or not an individual has an LTC. The material presented in the first 4 hours applies to both those seeking an LTC and persons desiring to constitutionally carry. Topics covered: laws justifying force and deadly force in selfdefense, regulations on carry, safe storage handgun use, and verbal de-escalation. Dates: Saturday, January 22 and Saturday, March 12 Time: 8:00 am – 12:30 pm Ages: 21+ years old Fee: $80 Member / $90 Non-member Instructor: Group 6 Training
