he May Bank Holiday weekend has established itself as the most imprtant kit car weekend of the year. Welcome to the biggest kit car show in the world! In this show guide, you’ll find a list of all the manufacturers and traders who had booked before we went to press (mid-March)... and there may be a few extra surprises by the time the show opens on Sunday 30th April/ Monday 1st May. But that’s just one aspect of the show... take your time to explore and you’ll be consumed by the world of kit cars. In the main halls, you’ll find all the main players in the kit car industry, and several new model launches (which you can read more about over the page). It’s the place to see what the kit car manufacturers have been working on over the winter months. If you’re looking for your next project, this is the place to do it! There are also plenty of trade and accessory stands, so you can stock up on all the parts and tools you need for your own project.
Meanwhile, there are yet more exhibitors outside, together with loads of owners’ clubs. If you want to see Cobra replicas, Westfields or many others in their droves, take the time to wander around the largest gathering of kit cars you’re ever likely to see. And there’s more to see and experience. Westfield’s spectacular drift experience once again takes its place near Avenue M. For a small charge, you can take an exhilarating ride to remember. And if you prefer your kit car action a little muddier, check out the Dakar 4x4 display that heads into Stoneleigh’s off-road course. Finally, if you’re making a full weekend of your visit, our sponsor Complete Kit Car magazine is hosting a live band in the Warwick Hall, which you’ll find just off Avenue M. DAVE JONES NEW REPLICA No photos were released of the new conversion from Dave Jones Kit Cars in time to appear here, but we’ve seen some work-in-progress shots and can assure you that it’s well worth seeking out. Details are being kept to a minimum, but we can tell you that it’s a supercar replica based on a Toyota MR2 Mk2 platform. For more, you’ll need to find the car on display.

THE PHOENIX RISES One of the best-known kit car manufacturers of the current era is MEV, and in recent times the company has sold off some projects to other manufacturers. The most recent new arrival to the industry via this route is Phoenix Kit Cars, which has taken on what was the Mevster (pictured). On show will be the former MEV demonstrator, plus a prototype chassis that shows some of the developments Phoenix boss Adrian O’Connor has made. These tweaks centre on the chassis – the sharply styled bodywork will remain unchanged.
Adrian’s background is in education and already several schools and colleges have agreed to take on Phoenix projects to help their students
gain hands-on technical experience.

KOZMO COMES TO UK
WESTFIELD LIVE UPGRADE
Kozmo Cars is a brand new name to the industry, and comes to Stoneleigh from its native Poland. The Kozmo is a mid-engined GT coupé that uses Fiat based mechanicals, up to and including the turbocharged 230bhp 1.4-litre from the Abarth range. The work of Tomasz Ferdek, it has been under development for many years with running prototypes having already been tested.
The chairman of the Westfield Sports Car Club, Scott Young, is retiring and, rather than a gold watch, the club is upgrading his car over the show weekend. Drop by to see the DCOE carbs being changed for throttle bodies.

LEE NOBLE RETURNS WITH NEW CAR
BUGGY CLUB CELEBRATES
After a 20-year absence from the kit car industry, Lee Noble is returning with a new car. He wouldn’t be drawn on much detail, but did reveal that it is based on “totally available Ford components” and that it’s a “new direction and unlike any previous products.”
It’s a highly enticing prospect and one that you won’t want to miss. Will it be car of the show? It has to be with a shout.

FF RETURNS FF Buggies is a new company that’s bringing back an old beach buggy favourite in both short and long wheelbase forms. In fact, the company offers no fewer than seven different buggy models! Look out for the long wheelbase hardtop equipped demonstrator.
It’s 50 years since the Volksrod was launched, which was the first UK designed beach buggy. The club doesn’t need much more excuse for a huge gettogether. See buggies of all kinds this weekend!

MEV SHOWS V6 EXOCET There are two new things to see on the MEV stand this year. The new Jaguar V6 engine conversion for the Mazda MX-5 based Exocet, developed in conjunction with Rocketeer, will be on show. Meanwhile, the company has also been working on its
Honda Fireblade powered Exoblade, which is an all-new car that’s due to make its very first public appearance at the show. And, knowing MEV, there will probably a surprise or two as well!

Mirage Automotive Developments Ltd may appear to be a relatively new company to have entered the kit car arena but it is a sister company to Auto Mirage Ltd, who have been involved in the kit car scene since the early 1990s. The Mirage 250 is an iconic classic Italian replica, and the result of several years of design, planning and robust preparation, resulting in exceptional craftsmanship and engineering. The chassis is an innovatively designed multi-tubular backbone structure with additional front and rear crumple zones. This coupled with bespoke double wishbone suspension, HiSpec brake calipers and discs, makes this chassis anything but classic. The engine and gearbox can be any BMW M52/M54 aluminium block engine (and 5-speed manual box). Outdoors on Block 53 we will host the biggest selection of Westfields likely to be seen in any one place at the same time. In previous years we have managed to display in excess of 250 Westfields each day so there is bound to be something that takes your fancy for a quick picture or to borrow an idea or two for your own build or upgrade. Many of the club’s grass roots members can be found in and around our marquee and we welcome one and all to come and celebrate all that is Westfield with us.
