Based in Baton Rouge, Grant has a long and successful residential and commercial record of doing projects the right way. With more than 20 years of construction experience, he knows what it takes to get the job done. After earning his degree in Construction Management from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, Grant headed West to begin his career with CDI Contractors in Fort Worth, TX. A couple of years later he joined JPI Multifamily to construct high-end apartment complexes in Austin and Denver. In the late 90’s, he returned home to work for Bing Bishop Construction where he oversaw a variety of metal building projects, schools, government and commercial office buildings, retail centers, churches, and restaurants. In the early 2000’s, Grant and a friend decided it was time to venture out on their own. Over the next twelve years their company, Wilmax Construction, completed over $120,000,000 of multifamily rehabs and new construction projects. When Wilmax Construction partners decided to move in different directions, Grant was eager to create Grant Ethridge Construction, LLC. After meeting Kevin Ayers, he knew with their combined knowledge and experience in construction and business that GEC would be something special.

Kevin Ayers has spent most of his professional career developing and managing companies. From construction to chemical manufacturing, Kevin has an extensive track record of building and aligning organizations to achieve profitability and growth. After graduating from Louisiana State University in 2000, Kevin began his career at Mid South Chemical where he oversaw all aspects of the company’s manufacturing and sales. In 2007, he decided to pursue opportunities outside of the chemical business and soon found himself in charge of development and construction for a fast-growing blood plasma collection company, International BioResources (IBR). When the company sold its centers to a global pharmaceutical company in 2010, Kevin was tapped to run IBR’s parent company, RR Company of America. RRCOA’s holdings included City Club at River Ranch, Southern Lifestyle Development, Double R Restaurant Group, and a large collection of commercial properties across the US. During his time at RRCOA is when Kevin recognized the need for a contractor who could deliver a project on time and budget. After meeting Grant Ethridge, he knew that he had found the right partner to make that happen. Their combined strengths in business and construction have proven to be an effective formula for GEC.

This experience soon proved to be valuable when the owners of Plaza Development decided to rapidly expand their blood plasma development company, International BioResources (IBR). As the construction/project coordinator for IBR, Lori and her team successfully opened plasma centers across the US until the company was acquired by a global pharmaceutical company in 2010.

Testimonial ”I had the pleasure of working with Grant Ethridge Construction for the remodel of my restaurant, Soji, in Baton Rouge. Their daily presence, direct line of communication, and timeliness of work insured a job well done and the deliverance of an amazing product. I have referred Grant Etheridge Construction to many hospitality colleagues, and I look forward to working with GEC in the future!”

-Chase Lyons Soji:Modern Asian Restaurant & Cocktail Bar “I am writing to share my experience with Mr. Ethridge on a project I developed in Sulphur, Louisiana where he served as general contractor. Sulphur Retirement Community is a 60-unit, three-story, elderly development funded by LIHTC. I can confidently state the project was completed on time and within budget. The only change order was owner driven, and the pricing Grant submitted was fair and reasonable. Mr. Ethridge’s knowledge of LIHTC and how financing worked, greatly assisted in experiencing a seamless process of construction through close-out and the one-year warranty. Grant will be an excellent addition to your development team! He is someone you can have complete confidence in!”
