Praise for Butterflies in My Stomach: “[Does] a great job of juxtaposing fact and feeling in the wry scenarios that illustrate the literal meaning of common sayings…The slapstick fun with words and pictures will appeal to preschoolers, but it is older grade-schoolers who will enjoy exploring the ways that words work.” —Booklist “An ideal book for the classroom or for one-on-one sharing.” —School Library Journal

erge Bloch, the witty author and illustrator of Butterflies in My Stomach, Reach for the Stars, and You Are What You Eat, brings his readers a touch of happy holiday spirit. Everyone’s a little snowed under preparing for Christmas: a storm is brewing, and there’s fear Santa might get stuck at the North Pole. But all it takes is a little decking the halls and trimming the tree to have everyone lighting up with joy. Bloch’s humor and unique art—which combines photographs and charming line drawings—helps make Christmas very merry, indeed. SERGE BLOCH won a gold medal at the Society of Illustrators and has created art for numerous books for children and adults. PUBLISHER: STERLING PUBLISHED: SEPTEMBER 2011

What would happen if we could separate our better selves from our baser half? Dr. Jekyll discovers the horrifying answer in Robert Louis Stevenson's gripping, atmospheric novella. An instant success upon publication, it chillingly illuminates the darkest aspects of the human soul. Set in the same foggy, sinister streets of Victorian London where Jack the Ripper prowled, the tale depicts Dr. Jekyll's transformation into the evil, amoral Mr. Hyde, after drinking a serum that he created in his laboratory. While at first Jekyll revels in the freedom of his dissolute alter ego, gradually Hyde begins to take over Jekyll's entire being--with devastating consequences.

Blackbeard: his very name conjures up the glint of a razor-sharp cutlass, a sinister eye-patch, and trembling victims walking the plank. No ship was safe from him and his fellow scoundrels, and tales of their villainy have passed into legend. As rich and tantalizing as the very treasures Blackbeard seized, this swashbuckling storybook captures all the danger and adventure of life on the high seas With its lavish art--including illustrations of mysterious objects that may have belonged to Blackbeard himself--it's sure to rouse the spirits of all pirate enthusiasts!
