ADOPT-A-STREAM

Grand Prairie is home to a local environmental lifeline, which is the majestic Trinity River. This river and its tributaries run through Grand Prairie, providing habitat for our native wildlife and recreation through fishing and boating opportunities. In our urban ecosystem, this river system needs regular support from the community to keep it litter-free, particularly after heavy rainfall events.

Fall and winter are the heart of the Keep Grand Prairie Beautiful stream cleanup season. Join us in improving and preserving the quality of this local ecological treasure! Most cleanups are land-based but we will have at least one water-based cleanup that includes free kayak and gear rental.

Adopt-A-Stream scheduled cleanup events are listed on My Impact at http://bttr.im/i2cc2. Everyone is encouraged to join a scheduled cleanup event.

Organizations and corporate groups are welcome to inquire about an exclusive day of service by emailing kgpb@gptx.org.

Seed And Plant Swap

We are pleased to announce that the 2nd Annual KGPB Seed and Plant Swap will be back in December 2023! New and experienced gardeners are invited to this FREE event. Guests are encouraged, but not required, to participate by bringing labeled seeds and plants to share with the community. Seed envelopes will be provided to take home your new treasures. Details and free registration are available at gptx.org/kgpb.

Clean Prairie Fall Sweep

Join Clean Prairie and help make GP litter free at the 2nd Annual Clean Prairie Fall Sweep on Saturday, Sept. 23 beginning at 8 a.m. This event runs concurrently with the Keep Texas Beautiful Fall Sweep. Teams can choose their level of difficulty and preferred location type by registering online at www.gptx. org/cleanprairie Locations include parks, streets, green belts, and other public spaces.
