Kara Eaker Member of the United States’ Women’s Gymnastics National Team

Grain Valley High School sophomore Kara Eaker, has been selected as a member of the United States’ Women’s Gymnastics National Team. Kara is the daughter of Mark and Katherine Eaker. She trains at Great American Gymnastic Express (G.A.G.E.) in Blue Springs, MO, under the direction of coaches Al Fong and Armine Barutayn.

Eaker has many accomplishments in gymnastics including her first World Championships, 2018 World team gold medalist, 2018 U.S. balance beam silver medalist, 2018 Senior Pan American Championships team and balance beam champion and floor bronze medalist, and 2017 U.S. junior balance beam champion and all-around bronze medalist.

Eaker, along with U.S. Women’s National Gymnastic teammates Simone Biles, Morgan Hurd, Riley McCusker, and Grace McCallum, competed in the 2018 World Championships in Doha, Qatar, in October. Team USA won the world title and secured a berth for the team into the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Eaker is working to secure a spot on the 2020 Olympics Team. •
