September. Ten boats and 32 members made the trip. The water was “flat as a flipper” to and from the event. The quest for wily Pacific salmon resulted with top honors going to Chris Carabini with an 11.5-lb. king, second place to Daniel Denny with a 5-lb. humpie, and third to Larry Post who netted an over 3-lb. silver. Fishing was tough, as only hatchery salmon are legal. The fun was easy, and folks enjoyed the area’s fine restaurants and a group meal at Harbourside. Thanks to Terry McCartney and Jacobsen’s Marine of Seattle, WA, for club support. LOOK AT THE GREAT LAKE ERIE WALLEYE and the winning team of participants in this past summer’s Lake Erie

Grady-White Club Tournament!

The Lake Erie Grady-White Club reports the results of their June Grady-White Tournament. Blessed with fantastic weather, the walleye fishing was strong for most competitors and the waters off Lorain and Vermilion, OH, held some of the bigger migrating fish. Those with boats by the Lake Erie Islands had great fishing volume but not size. There were a number of first timers participating to compete for bragging rights. Tournament Champion was Bill Rauterhaus with 85.25 in.; second place was Jason Brooks, 77.75 in.; and third, Rick Raup, 73.875 in.. Bill Rauterhaus caught longest walleye at 29 in.; and longest perch, Mike Manion, 11 in.. Paul Kolesar provided excellent fish measuring skills and was a great steak griller! Thirty-one Tampa Bay Grady-White Club members, family and friends headed to Palm Island Resort, Cape Haze, FL, October 2 for a long weekend of relaxation. Five Gradys transported most while several arrived by ferry to this secluded, peaceful spot with a beautiful white beach, lovely sunsets and wonderful weather. Some fished the pass, some gathered shells, and others chose to just relax by one of the pools or read. All enjoyed potluck dinners, a lunch by boat to Cabbage Key, and a dinner at the resort’s Rum Bay Restaurant. One of the best parts of the resort is there are no cars so transportation on the island is by golf carts only. Naturally there were a few races! Quality Boats of Clearwater, FL, sponsors this club.
