The 109th Graduate Union annual general meeting
109TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Graduate Union of The University of Melbourne held it’s 109th annual General Meeting (AGM)on 27th May 2021. Following the announcement of the 7-day lockdown in Victoria on 27th May, the AGM was shifted from face-to-face to a Zoom meeting. In her opening address, President The Hon Diana Bryant AO QC acknowledged the various stages of 2020 and the challenging impacts of the pandemic, restrictions and lockdowns on the world, our communities, Graduate House, residents and Members of the Association.

The President called upon the continued support and advocacy from Members, and her continued wish to meet more Members in person at Graduate House and in other forums over the coming months and, hopefully, at the third AGM of her term as President.
Election of Council members
The report from the Returning Officer following the 2021 election results indicated three successful candidates:
• Cr Mary Kelleher; • Cr Muan Lim; and
• Cr Jane Tisdall
Retiring Councillor
Chairman of Council, Mr Vincent Mirabelli, extended gratitude to retiring Councillor, Mr Kingsley Davis OAM, noting that he had first been appointed to Council in 2011 and elected in 2012, and has served on Council for ten years.
Honorary Life Membership
The Graduate Union Council presented two previous presidents of the Association with Honorary Life Memberships: • Major General Professor Jeffrey Rosenfeld AC,
OBE, KStJ (2013 – 2015) • Dr Ken Loughnan AO (2016 – 2019)
Honorary College Fellows
Each year the Graduate Union Council appoints Honorary College Fellows to those of distinguished accomplishment in the University-level education and research sector who have contributed to collegiality. The recipients for 2021 are: • Dr Ross McMullin
• Professor Rachel Fensham
• Professor Stuart Milner
Date of next annual General meeting
The Chairman advised Members that the next AGM is scheduled for Thursday, 26th May 2022.
