Required Entry Level • Standard Grade Administration at 3 or 4 (KU and PS) or • Intermediate 1 Administration course or • Component units and Standard Grade English at 3 or 4 or • Intermediate 1 English or its component units.
Course Details All courses include 40 hours over and above the 120 hours for the component units: 1
Administrative Services Perform the administrative functions within an organisational environment, organise travel and accommodation arrangements, contribute to the arrangement of meetings, acquire the skills necessary to plan their work and to develop their own development plan.

Information Technology for Administrators Develop the competencies required to process, sort, check, store and output information within the modern administrative environment, use electronic methods of communication for sending and receiving information. Acquire the skills necessary to produce business correspondence using word processing equipment.

Administration: Presenting and Communicating Information Acquire the necessary skills to use the Internet to search for and extract information. Acquire the skills to use ICT (e.g. word processing) to present and communicate information. Acquire the skills to use presentation software to present and communicate information.
Assessment Internal External
Assessments at end of each outcome. (a) Paper 1 for 1 hour will test knowledge and understanding. (b) Paper 2 for 1 hour 20 minutes will test practical application of IT skills.
