FRED DIKRANIAN
ASSISTANT COACH | 12TH SEASON | CONNECTICUT COLLEGE, 2004 Fred Dikranian enters his 12th season with the USF men’s soccer team and has been instrumental in assisting head coach George Kiefer in building one of the nation’s premier college soccer programs. The Bulls have advanced to eight NCAA Tournaments with Dikranian serving as an assistant under Kiefer, including two trips to the Elite Eight in 2008 and 2011 and another to the Sweet 16 in 2007. USF has also won two BIG EAST Red Division titles (2005 & 2011), a BIG EAST Tournament title (2008) and an American Athletic Conference Tournament title (2013) during Dikranian’s stint as an assistant coach with the Bulls. Dikranian came to USF from Connecticut College, where he was a former volunteer assistant coach following a stellar four-year run with the Camels. He capped off his collegiate career by being named team captain his senior year. In 2004, Fred Dikranian followed his uncle, Bob Dikranian, to USF and served as a volunteer assistant with the Bulls, studying under his uncle and former Bulls assistant during the 2004 campaign. Dikranian took over for his uncle in 2005 and the 2015 campaign marks Dikranian’s 12th season as assistant coach with the Bulls. Since 2005, Dikranian has served as a director for Victory Soccer Development - a developmental youth soccer program in Tampa. Dikranian has also served as a youth coach at Black Watch soccer club and has worked with director of soccer operations, Jim DiNobile, in the advancement of competitive youth soccer in the Tampa Bay area. Dikranian also runs and oversees the George Kiefer Soccer Camps that are put on every year by the USF soccer program. From 2000-2004, Dikranian was involved with the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA), working in the South Central Premier Club directed by his uncle. He has worked with the club, coaching many groups during that time span. During this time he was also a member of the CJSA Olympic Development Program (ODP) State staff. While working for CJSA ODP, Dikranian coached various state teams and age groups. Twice he has helped guide state teams to ODP Regional Finals. Dikranian holds a USFF National “A” coaching license. He earned his bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a minor in economics from Connecticut College (2004) and also holds a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from USF (2008).
