Snowdon 500 Charity Challenge Ben Rimmer recently took part in the Snowdon 500 Charity Challenge along with 499 people. Our group started at 10:10 am and took the "Pyg Track" the steepest route. Ben’s reason for his involvement was because his Grandad is currently undergoing treatment for prostate cancer and he wanted to do something to help. Money raised so far is £485 of the £500 target

Race for Life A team of over forty pupils and staff from Year 7 upwards completed the 5K race starting at Chester Racecourse on Sunday June 23rd in the hope of raising much needed funds to aid in Cancer Research. Despite the weather being less than ideal, the girl’s came in Pink Force and showed Cancer whose boss! Many of the girl’s ran in memory of friends and relatives but others simply ran in the hope of helping to find cures so they never have to be directly impacted. No matter the cause, we all shared the same vision, to help researchers find a cure for Cancer! Well done to all the girls who took part in the event, it was a great success. Without your support research wouldn’t be possible. Cancer.... The staff and pupils of Whitby High School are coming to get you!

Over 200 pupils and staff got into the comic spirit of Red Nose Day by donning wacky clothes and recording their own Harlem Shake, raising in excess of £1000 in the process. The worldwide dance craze has inspired many imitators and youngsters at Whitby High School were keen to get in on the act. The pupils took part in a red non-uniform day to raise money for both Comic Relief and the British Heart Foundation. Pupils and staff also took part in a red nose-themed Harlem Shake and a red nose ramble, when pupils paid £1 to complete a lap of the school’s cross-country course in their Red Nose Day outfits.
