NOTE: Subjects consist of 3 hours of face-to-face contact (1.5 hrs tutorials / 1.5 hrs lectures) and 6 hours, non-contact study time. Full-time load consists of 4 subjects per trimester (4 subjects per week x 3 hrs contact = 12 hrs contact per week). HAT301 is the equivalent of two subjects. A total of 72 credit points is required to complete the Carrick Bachelor Degree program, e.g. 1 Subject = 3 credit points; 24 Subjects x 3 credit points = 72 credit points. To gain entry into the Bachelor of Business (Hospitality and Tourism Management) students must meet one of the following entry requirements:
Hospitality students can gain jobs in the following areas: Food and Beverage Managers, Front Office Managers, Catering Managers, Sales Directors, Marketing Directors, Management Consultants and many more.
• Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent qualification • Certificate IV or equivalent qualification • Mature age entry (aged 21 years or more) for applicants who can demonstrate an ability to undertake the course through interview. • IELTS score of 6.0 required In addition, all students must be at least 18 years of age at the time of course commencement. International students whose first language is not English are required to have an IELTS (Academic) score of at least 6.0 per band or equivalent. International students who do not meet the English requirements can undertake an English program, offered at Carrick English Language.
Tourism students can gain jobs in the following areas: Tour Guide Managers, Tourism Operators, Travel Agents, Travel Consultants, Agency Managers, Cruise Tourism Coordinators, Cruise Tourism Managers and many more.
