U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions is serving his third term representing the people of Alabama. A senior member on the Armed Services Committee and Budget Committee, he is also a member of the Judiciary Committee and chairman of its subcommittee on Immigration and National Interest. A strong advocate for securing the border, Sessions was the first U.S. Senator to endorse Donald Trump and has acted as a liaison between the Trump campaign and Capitol Hill. Sessions is the son of a country store owner in Hybart, Alabama, and he worked his way through college and law school. He practiced law, first in Russellville and then in Mobile, and served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1975 to 1977. Sessions is also a veteran. He served in the Army Reserve for thirteen years, and is proud of having reached the rank of Captain. President Reagan appointed him U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama in 1981. He held that position for twelve years, and then was elected Alabama Attorney General. As a United States Senator, Sessions has focused on maintaining a strong military, upholding the rule of law, limiting the role of government, and providing tax relief to stimulate economic growth and empower Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money.
