SET-UP and OPERATION Plumbing A water supply of at least 35 gallons per minute (13 LLPM) at a pressure between 20 pounds per square inch (PSI) (1.4 BAR) and 70 PSI (4.8 BAR) is required for proper operation. Use the hoses supplied with the unit or contact Goodway for replacements. Failure to use proper hoses can result in damage to the pump, and loosening or breakage of rigid piping. Also, never reduce hose size on inlet (1 ½” / 38mm) or outlet (¾” / 19mm). Lubrication Before startup, check crankcase oil level. Oil level should be up to the red dot on the crankcase. Use ISO 68 weight hydraulic oil (Goodway p/n HPW-CPO). Change oil after 50 hour break in period. Continue to change oil at 500 hour intervals. Each pump has three oil caps. Place 5 drops of SAE 40W Hydraulic Oil in each part every other week. Refer to parts schematic part number BFP-3510-101. Inlet Strainer The inlet strainer is located in the 1 ½” cross. Inspect by looking into the 1 ½” union and remove any debris from the port. This should be checked before each pump use. Inlet Pressure After hooking the 1 ½” inlet hose, make sure the ball valves are closed. Turn water on to the pump. Read inlet pressure by looking at the gauge mounted on the cross. Pressure must be between 20 and 70 PSI (1.4 BAR and 4.8 BAR). Do not operate pump without water. Bleed air from BFP-3510 04/01

pump by hooking up the outlet hose and opening the ball valve and water gun and letting water run through system into a drain. For this pump to work properly, it must have at least 35 GPM of water available. Electrical Hookup This pump runs on 208/240/380/460 volts or 440 volts 3 phase (50/60 Hz). Wiring diagram is located on the motor. After pump is hooked up electrically and has 35 GPM (132 LPM) of water to it, you can check pump for rotation. Rotation should follow the arrow on the belt guard. Note: Engage pump only briefly while checking rotation. Leakage Check pump and entire plumbing system for water leaks. Repair all leaks before operating the system. Contact Goodway’s Customer Service if leaks cannot be resolved. CAUTION – Disconnect electrical power before servicing this equipment. Setting Outlet Pressure Turn pump on, outlet pressure should read 325 – 375 PSI (22.4-25.9 BAR) (outlet gauge). To adjust the pressure, loosen the locking nut on the bypass relief valve (p/n BFP-112); while looking at top gauge, turn the bolt on the valve. To increase the pressure, turn the bolt clockwise, to decrease turn it counter clockwise. This adjustment should take place while the pump is on and the water gun is closed. Make sure to tighten locking nut after pressure is adjusted. Adjust pressure to propel the cleaner about 10 – 20 feet / second (3-6 meters/sec). Pressure can be increased to dislodge stuck Super Scrubbers. Pump Operation Do not operate the pump if excessive pulsation exists or if an unusually loud noise is present. If this should occur, check for proper water supply and obstructions in the inlet water filter. Contact Goodway’s Customer Service if pump problems cannot be resolved.
