Don’t Stay Down

Life can be so hard. Sometimes we get hit so hard that it will knock us completely off our feet, cause us to lose our focus, and sometimes even shake our faith in such a way that we think we can’t get back up again. Isaiah 40:28-31 says, “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Well, my friends, I am here to tell you, you can! You can get back up. You can give your weaknesses to God. When we give our weaknesses to God, we trade our weakness for His strength. Matthew 21:22 tells us, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” This is a great and gracious promise, and it includes all things whatsoever. This means everything, including wisdom, courage, and strength. This means that no matter what we are going through in life, remember that His strength is found at the end of

our rope. His strength is found on our knees when we are too weak to get back up. All we have to do is ask.

Robert Leamon is a local martial artist of 38 years. During his career he has had the privilege of training with a variety of instructors versed in multiple styles of the martial arts. Robert, together with his wife Lisa, stepped out on faith and founded Christ Centered Martial Arts (CCMA) in 2008. He is the chief instructor of CCMA and they have a main dojo (karate school) located in Rocky Face, Georgia, and another dojo in Chatsworth, Georgia. Robert and Lisa are very involved with their home church Emmaus Baptist as well as teaching an AWANA’s elective karate class at a couple of other area churches.
